yeah im disappointed by this too. thought it sounded decent on jools holland but there's something really annoying about the recorded version. Its the chorus that’s annoying the shit out of you. It sounds incredibly forced. It epitomises almost everything that we hate about him. “Look, im no longer just a great songwriter okay... I’m a cat and I’m a fucking great singer now too with unique singing abilities, just look at Bob Dylan, David I’m in pain, can you please make this chorus sound unique and out there”

Beautiful World is fucking great. Poppy kraut rock, not a lot to dislike about that. Also I saw you leaving a 1001 questions on facebook for Noel, you complete and utter fanboy. Let it go, the man now belongs to the Illuminati with Bono & Rupert Murdoch. It's insulting to bands & artists that have come before to casually throw terms like Krautrock to describe Noel's middle of the road shit. It's as embarrassing as when Coldplay name-check Kraftwerk, or U2 associate themselves with Eno in a desperate attempt to pass themselves off as being interesting, when in reality they're to rock what Kenny G is to Jazz, an utter embarrassment. Noel isn't an artist, he's a fraud. A man once capable of writing very catchy melodic songs with mostly poor lyrics that'd be elevated by the talent of his brother. Now he doesn't have Mr Elevator with him, nor is he capable of writing a good song anymore. Instead he chooses to package his shortcomings in this phony "experimental" farce that will of course sound forward-thinking to a Q magazine reader.

I know music, all of his songs this cycle have been great. Could give a shit, if he has a toxic relationship with his family, or that he has no idea what he is talking about when it comes to politics. The melodies are there, and always will be. Is he rewriting the wheel like Neu! or Cluster? No. But he is producing fine music that is adventurous for his discography. and doing this at the age of fifty. He deserves kudos.

Whistle samples and scissor playing - making music adventurous since 2017. There'll be musicians being inspired across the world, setting mics up in barber shops and on building sites

He deserves fans like Rolli. Indeed he does. I can’t imagine him wanting him to attract burgeoning geriatrics with Krusty the Clown hair.

Back to the music eh.
I really like Beautiful World so balls to it. Verses are decent but the chorus is quality. Loving the production so far on the album. I'd much rather travel around with Liam in his gypsy caravan than share a spa with Bono in a 5 star hotel, but this is just through personal choice lads and it's not gonna stop me judging the music properly. This is gonna be his best solo album by far.

I enjoy panning Noel as much as the next man, but I'm not sure I'd have strong feelings about any of these songs if they were by anyone else. It's pretty forgettable, like the vast majority of his solo career, but his screeching vocals tip it over the edge from inoffensive into downright awful.

I'm quite interested to see how this all works out for Noel, it's a bit of a dangerous game for his ego. I'm not really sure where he's trying to pit this record, we know he's trying to alienate the 'Parka Monkey's', but we also know this boring shit he's releasing isn't anywhere near the 'far out' and experimental beast he thinks it actually is. As JP said, it's not exactly going to be turning the heads of anyone outside of the mainstream, mentioning Can in every interview and desperately trying to hammer home how 'experimental' he's being is just extremely tragic.
He's not going to succeed in doing anything other than alienate a chunk of his fan base and we know this isn’t going to sit well with his ego, I predict two thirds of the new songs will be out of his set within 9 months.

''I can play it on an old guitar You can sing it like a monkey man Don't speak of soul because you got none And all the kids in a funky bar Dressing down like the bogeyman If they don't mind and you don't mind I'm gonna write that in a song''
