Dead in the Water is one of the best things he's ever written. For once he nails it lyrically.

Just starting.
Track 3 is really, really, really terrible. Jesus.

Only listened twice so I will wait to do a proper review, but If Love is The Law and The Man Who Built The Moon are proper tunes. On first reflection though I prefer Liam's album

Noel has been such a cunt in recent months which has led to me having absolutely ZERO desire to listen to the album.

Definitely his best solo album. The man who built the moon is massive. Imagine Liam singing it.

i was expecting to begrudgingly like this.
i really liked chasing yesterday and the david holmes thing interested me. on first listen though this is just totally forgetable. there's some interesting touches production wise but the actual songs are poor.
his worst solo album for me and maybe the worst gallagher brother related record along with heathen chemistry.
it's frustrating because if this flops which i think it will, he will blame it on trying something different and being too out there for his fanbase when clearly that isnt the case at all. what another massive win for liam though. never would have predicted this a few years ago.
dead in the water is lovely though.

Black and white sunshine - bad

God help us all - bad
The album is a monumental flop.

Fort Knox - Alright but realistically quite easy to write. Won't make my 'bangers' playlist on Spotify. Holy Mountain - Shit. Terrible. Oh dear. Keep on Reacing - Worst song he has ever released. Ever. Terrible. An 'experimental' take on the Red Dwarf theme. Awful. It's a Beautiful World - Rubbish. Waste of time. Not good enough to get on Pop by U2. Rubbish. She Taught Me How to Fly - One of the better tunes but just a blatant rip off that goes no where. Also, WE GET IT. You met your missus in a club whilst you were high. She blew your mind. You've written about it about 10 times. Please. Stop it. Be Careful What You Wish For - Can't make it all the way through. Horrible. So obvious in what it's trying to achieve and what it's stolen to get there. Heard it all before. Rubbish. Back of the queue. Black and White Sunshine - Rubbish. 'You got the nerve, I got the brains'. Deary me. Go away. Shit guitars. Shit vocals. Terrible. Interlude 1 - Rubbish. Waste of time. If Love Is The Law - I know this is cliche and doesn't really mean anything but 90's Noel would probably commit suicide if he was told he's be writing this 25 years later. Awful. Sounds like the Manics at their worst. The sound of a flaccid penis. The Man Who Built The Moon - Good. Sinister. Dodgy lyrics. All of the lyrics are horrendous. Vocals are bad throughout. End credits - Rubbish. Waste of time. Dead in the Water - Good. Heard it all before. Good though. God Help Us All - Average.
There is no way we would have released this if he knew Liam was coming back so solidly with his dick out and planting his flag at Finsbury Park. He probably thought he could sneak it out, talk up 'experimental' and keep the arenas filled. Not on Liam's watch, pal. Liam's gonna sell out that cricket ground tomorrow whilst Noel is done and dusted.

His best solo album by far, it isn't even a contest. The standouts for me are Holy Mountain, She Taught Me How to Fly, The Man Who Built The Moon, and Beautiful World. Those songs will reside in his canon for years to come. I think the talk of experimentation is a little overblown, but it does touch on a lot of disparate influences that never made an Oasis album or his solo work.
8/10
