Absolutely rock solid defensive display from Utd. Who'd have thought it?

All four CBs have been excellent since Ole took over yet Mourinho claimed it was the position most weakest. I'm now starting to think he was a bigger fraud than Liverpool's title bid.

Yesterday was the first time I can remember cheering for united since...the champions league final against Chelsea, maybe? I didn't enjoy it one bit. Decent result, I suppose.

play like mince for weeks and then do that. spurs look out of it for good after that tonight. 7 previous teams with this pts tally have won it.

Gotta be City Quad surely?

You mean the better of the two, right? I can't imagine either, the quadruple would outdo 99 but at least that squad was built on better principles and not oil money (not digging, just saying). And while Liverpool's win would be tough, I think it'd be a one off like Leicester so would be forgotten about quicker in the grand scheme of things. I'd need to take a sabbatical from football either way

"And while Liverpool's win would be tough, I think it'd be a one off like Leicester" Sorry, but I think that is a ridiculous statement. Liverpool have been building towards something for a few years now and if they win the league ( I think they will btw) then it'll be as a result of them putting together a title winning team. Leicester didn't do that; it was just very much a freak season where everything went their way. Also, Liverpool already have a very strong team and just lack a little depth. If they win the league, they get a nice little lump of cash for that and become a more attractive team for top-players to go to. In terms of the actual squad they'll have, if they win the league this season, they'll be even stronger next season.

Well that last sentence is as laughable, do you really think finishing 1st over 2nd would make them stronger for next season. Not at all. It's like saying if City finish 2nd they won't be able to attract the same calibre of players. And my point was that Arsenal, Chelsea and Man Utd have all been in transition this year with new managers so it's hardly a Celtic or Rangers scenario for the next decade. Liverpool will be battling 2 or 3 teams for the title next season and will be back to aiming for top four in reality. They've also been a bit lucky this season facing injury hit teams (see Sunday), with offside goals, and gaining from several goalkeeping howlers (Pickford, Speroni). They've still been very good but had a lot of things go for them already like Leicester had.

We aren't winning a quadruple, though. I think a domestic treble is definitely on, and *almost* likely. (although every time I do one of those predictors to the end of the season, I have Liverpool winning, because I'm still a pessimist at the end of the day). I see a semifinal loss to in the CL to atletico in our future.

But I still think comparing a potential Liverpool title win to Leicester's is a bit daft. I don't think anybody realistically expected Leicester to be able to defend the title, let alone finish in the Top 4 the following season. If Liverpool do win it, I think they'll be in a much stronger position than Leicester could have ever hoped to have been to defend the title.

Alisson • 16 clean sheets • 15 goals conceded
De Gea: • 7 clean sheets • 36 goals conceded
Pretty much sums up how far away united are from Liverpool right now. Liverpool will finish the season with VDV as the premier leagues best player, salah as the premier leagues top scorer, and alisson as the leagues best keeper. Liverpool have a wonderful spine.
Fabinho is slowly turning into the leagues best midfielder, Liverpool will undoubtedly improve next season, and for all this talk of city being not just the best team in England, but the best team in world football, and arguably the best team of all time, Liverpool are making this title challenge look relatively easy.
United will struggle to finish 6th and will go into next season with an 80 year old Ashley Young saying that he’s ready for a title challenge.
United are currently the biggest cringe club in world football, I honestly feel a little bit sorry for solksjaer.

Poor wind-up attempt dude, using stats from the ill-fated previous manager is low even for axl standards.
King Ole, 32 points from 36 in the league and top of the form guide. If only he'd been in charge from the beginning of the season, he'd have the league wrapped up by now!

Sorry sully I’m definitely not trying to wind you up. In terms of development united are about 5 years behind Liverpool. You have an ageing squad who just aren’t very good, with maybe 1 or two world class players. You also have a manager who isn’t very good, and who is giving you the impression that a “purple patch” is the height of managerial brilliance. Looking at your remaining fixtures, it’s pretty much guaranteed that you will lose at least half of them, and will therefore struggle to finish sixth.

Arsenal vs Man Utd Man Utd vs Watford Wolves vs Man Utd Man Utd vs West Ham Everton vs Man Utd Man Utd vs Man City Man Utd vs Chelsea Huddersfield vs Man Utd Man Utd vs Cardiff
Which games are Utd guaranteed to lose, Ax? Curious for your perspective on it. I think away to Arsenal and home to City will be tricky but they've already beat Arsenal one at the Emirates so can do it again. And as a Liverpool fan, you most be hoping they're gonna turn City over? Not sure if they will. The rest of the games, the points are there for the taking. I'd be very surprised if, come the end of the season, Utd have lost half of these games.

3 0-0s in 4 games for free scoring Liverpool, title in the bag as easily as Axl suggested.
