I wonder how long until we'll get the first vault archival releases.

Will it be in the same shitty quality as the CD's?
DJFoefur needle drop mixes are the only legitimate source until they are remastered properly.

Dirty Mind (1980) Controversy (1981) 1999 (1982) Purple Rain (1984) Around the World in a Day (1985) Parade (1986) Sign O The Times (1987) The Black Album (1988) Everything before and after is littered with great moments, but questionable as a whole.

What Kev said. I'd go for Dirty Mind first, would make a good starting point.

Also using these recommendations as an introduction to Prince. After a couple of plays of Dirty Mind, I'mm really enjoying it. Also, Purple Rain is great.

For an album that's obviously great, Purple Rain has always been lower down on my list of favourite Prince albums. I think perhaps because when I first came to Prince, it was the album that had all of the most recognisable songs on it, you pretty much know all of the songs and so I sort of steered away from while I ventured elsewhere. I still think it's a great record, but its the one I probably listen to the least out of his classic albums.
