The last two posts (not counting JP's) makes me weep for the future. Allow me to add to your pain. Temptation by New Order. There's just something in the way New Order put records together that makes me feel a little nauseous. Honestly, I have to turn them off. I don't know if it's Sumner's voice (I do know it's his voice, at least partly) or the knowledge that Peter Hook is such a prick or the fact that they used to have a genius front man and were called something else. Because I can hear that there's innovation and hooks and chops, but their songs leave me worse than cold- they leave me annoyed. Or, it might just be that I don't know them well enough and am rating them on big singles. In fact, someone that loves New Order please tell me why I'm wrong and point me in the right direction in their back catalogue. But Temptation is a bit of a tune. And Stephen Morris seems like a nice man. |

I always liked a bit of New Order, though in recent years I've really got into pretty much their whole back catalogue. They had a a nice sale on their website recently so I got my favourite four records by them for about £11 each.

It took me years to click with New Order. Never got the appeal at all and much preferred Joy Division.
It finally happened about 5 years ago though and I became pretty obsessed. Adore them now.
