It took me years to click with New Order. Never got the appeal at all and much preferred Joy Division. It finally happened about 5 years ago though and I became pretty obsessed. Adore them now. New Order piss all over Joy Division. Joy Division are only talked about now because of Martin Hannett’s genius production. Take that away and you have an average post punk band with a singer doing a Manc impression of Sinatra. |
