I loved his first couple of albums when he started but then drifted away and dismissed him as a Gaye/Wonder/Hathaway tribute act. Totally unfairly.
I've had a bit of a binge and while he never reinvented the wheel, he wrote some great bloody songs.
The new one is pure joy.

It's about as uncool as it's possible to be praising Jamiroquai but I challenge anyone to listen properly through Emergency On Planet Earth and not enjoy it. |

Space Cowboy, I've given his debut a download as I feel bad for the way you have been so harshly treated by the rest of this wonderful community. I've actually never minded him tbh  I've been listening to a lot of 70s funk & jazz recently so hopefully this'll work for me. Though this is between you & I... I'd never admit it on a public forum! I also like about 8 U2 songs but I'd never admit it on the soapbox. I'll get back to you Space Cowboy. |

As i've said earlier; he's never tried to reinvent the wheel and the influences (particuarly Marvin Gaye and Stevie Wonder) are so obvious a deaf/blind/mute could pick them out but there's some top funky pop songs.
