Re-recorded my Soapy Song Something Beautiful

I fuckin' hate you! I'm struggling to finish some of my shitty sketches and now I hear your amazingly produced and greatly arranged song and it makes them look so... well, shitty Just joking, it's wonderful. I don't remember the original though, but I recall loving other songs of yours.

That's a nice melody Barney!For my specific ears it's kind of a midi overkill though, why not include some actual recordings, guitars etc? Is it a matter of your personal style and sound or don't you have the opportunity?I was wondering the same when I heard your last tracks,though I did like that 8 bit kinda sound.

I like the New Pornographers a lot but I never thought this song would sound similar. Aren't they way less folk-y? Comparisons I've heard so far are Decemberists, Shins, Belle and Sebastian,which I can get behind.

It's a bit of both, have no time nor abbility to do it properly, so I've embraced the midi weirdness.

Definitely your songs tend to sound more like those other bands you mention, but The Pornos are sometimes not that different to some Shins or B&S songs.

Yeah that's true, I'm particularly a fan of Neko Case btw.

That "midi weirdness" is actually pretty cool, makes it unique. I'm just curious how your stuff would sound like when recorded with some actual instruments.

Finished a song last week, it's the partially somber closer of my imaginery EP and it's not as catchy as the rest, but more atmospheric. It developes quite a bit in it's 6:30 run and needs some patience. And headphones!
