got the day off work tomorrow as i worked saturday. i'm meant to be looking after my daughter all day but i think i'll shove peppa pig on the tv and spend all the time writing up my end of year list and report. will then just need a bit of fine tuning when these final few releases come out.
can't wait!

I started on mine the other week, I’ve listened to so much new stuff this year that I wanted to revisit everything that I enjoyed. I’ve been surprised at how some i loved earlier in the year haven’t held up as well with some stuff I was lukewarm on now really working for me

yeah same.
i work on mine throughout the year really because it is pretty much the most important thing in my life. just tomorrow i'll do some of the writing up about each album. the order is a constant work in progress though.
the big growers for me have been the ride and slowdive albums. both have grown on me tons as the year has gone by.

Going back to rough trade, they're everything an indie record shop shouldn't be these days. Their prices are horrendous and their staff are pleasant and helpful. Unless you get the bloke with the beard in RT East (is he still there?).
And their list is usually shit. They have Beck above Kendrick.

The big surprise for me thIs year is that albums I would've put money on being high up my list before hearing them, have left me really cold.

I love this time of year- trawling through all the lists picking up so much that's been missed through the year. I reckon i do as much music listening in the last six weeks of the year as the rest of it put together.

They're pretty much exactly the same time as the last couple of years when you were on top form posting them instantly so I'm not buying that.
Hope everything's OK mate, let me know if you need to talk x

its bizarre a couple of places listing the a tribe called quest album on this years lists. it came out early november last year ffs.
just because you post your end of year list stupidly early shouldnt mean you can include albums that come out afterwards on the next years list. id see past it if it was like the run the jewels album that came out on new years eve or whatever it was but this was way earlier.
maybe noel gallagher is going to have the album of 2018 in mojo for this years effort!

But wasn’t it only released digitally then came out on cd and vinyl in January? Mojo readers don’t do downloads!
