As usual, anybody who posts their end of year list BEFORE December 15th will receive the BAD AIDS.
As usual, his is the time of year to start being kind to Barny so he'll add up the 6.5 lists we'll get.
Kevin Burgess has been nominated to add the groovy stats like he did last year.
Some big dilemmas I'm facing right now, do I include the Kamasi Washington EP in my list? It's half an hour long. I just don't know.

2, Will the Vargas K album ever be officially released?
Also the thread to stick publications end of year lists which I imagine will start coming mid November.

i like what mahoney has done here. get this thread up early whilst the forum is at the busiest its been in about 6 years to try and get some of the returnees to post their lists when the time comes.
we might break double figures this year!

I've listened to more albums this year than the past two combined, I recon. I'm not saying I'll be doing a JP-style top 350, but I have a lot to chew over. I know my top two already.

barny can you remind me how many albums from you take from each person when doing the point scoring for the overall soapy list? going to have to think very carefully in the lower end of my list as i've realised i've liked so many albums this year that even if i do a top 50 there will be albums i've given 4 stars to on rateyourmusic that won't make the list  there's still several big hitters like neil young, bjork, morrissey etc to come as well. it's not been a classic year by any means but it does feel as if the sheer number of albums released that i've enjoyed has been ridiculous. |

rough trade are always ridiculously early.i guess it always boosts sales instore though. crazy theyve included bjork so high up when its not even out yet.

Very odd having Prisoner that high, even hardcore Ryan Adams fans are either lukewarm on it, or at least recognise that it feels like an inferior part II to his self titled record. Still there's a bunch on there I'd not heard of, plus it has reminded me that I forgot to give that Jarvis/Chilly Gonzales record a listen.

bjork's not out until nov 24th i'd downloaded the jarvis and chilly gonzalez thing months and months ago when it first came out and forgotten all about it too. gave it a first spin last week. it was better than expected but won't quite be making my top 40. |
