2018 Gigs

2018 is looking really sparse for me at the moment, both in terms of albums to be excited about but also gigs.

i've made a conscious effort the last year or so to cut back a bit gig wise, especially on trips to TCOTU etc just from a financial point of view what with having a kid, buying a house etc but still did loads in norwich in 2017. there's barely anything to interest me so far though in norwich for 2018.

only things i have tickets for at the moment are...

19th may - ben folds @ norwich theatre royal
10th june - kasabian @ thetford forest

if this was a few years ago i woud have totally been all over loads of the all points east gigs, the cure thing at hyde park and liam at finsbury but trains,hotels etc just make it not worth it financially nowadays.

having said that, if latitudes lineup is shit and i dont go to that, i'll definitley do nick cave at victoria park instead.

Will probably end up doing Field Day or the Nick Cave gig (maybe one or two other APE days too) if I can get tickets nearer the time. Also tempted by The Go! Team at Electric Ballroom.

It's Elton John's final tour. I've never seen him and reckon he's one of those you should see once. I set a budget of €200 and we got front block seats for €163. for a single act gig there's probably only Simon and Garfunkel or Tom Waits I'd consider paying that for now. I didn't expect to get tickets as i expected him to charge double that.


At the opposite end of the scale I'm well excited about seeing Little Simz in a tiny venue. Weirdly, she's charging €30, which seems loads.

Strong start to 2018 for me.
