given the ratings i see from lino, i highly doubt that he ever was MAD FER IT! How dare you. I listen to Oasis practically every day, and have done so since first buying their CDs. I've spent thousands on Pretty Green attire. I bought the Familiar to Millions CD, DVD and VHS. I incorporate Oasis or Oasis related terms into all of my system passwords (wife is offended). I've kept this thread going, even posting prepared "reviews" while on holiday down the coast. I genuinely look forward to hearing what others here have to say about each and every track. Oasis is probably one of the three main things even near-strangers know about me, and the minute Liam or Noel die or are revealed to be sex offenders, I'll be the first person they think of. My ratings are incredibly fanboy-ish - an average of 6.57 despite two quite poor albums, and most of the B-sides post SOTSOG being dire. Sure, I'm no fan of Columbia, and don't consider DM their best (it's BHN), but out of the 133 songs on the list, the lowest I've scored is a 2, and only 2 tracks received that. 12 songs get a perfect 10/10, spanning from DM to DBTT. How very dare you. This is the least madferit post I've ever read.

Wonderwall
Their biggest worldwide hit, far more successful as a radio and video hit outside the UK than within it, where it was kept at number 2 by Robson and Jerome's "I believe" - subsequent single DLBIA topped the charts.
An unconventional acoustic ballad, essentially an attempt to guilt someone into loving you, it's a busker's favourite and topped TripleJ's best songs of the past 20 years in 2012.
Its success saw the sale of acoustic guitars soar, what with the prominent opening riff (similar strumming pattern to DKWIM and It's better people).
Tastefully arranged strings pepper the track but the under-appreciated gold is Alan White's drumming. It's super popular, it's been played to death, it's an online punchline ("Anyway - here's Wonderwall"), but still - 8/10

Won't Let You Down
Another DBTT non-album throwaway (Lyla b-side), Liam penned, stripped back sound - very Lennon.
Lyrically it's not terrible but the vocal's a bit rough and the melody's nothing special.
Not one I come back to often. 4/10

You've Got to Hide Your Love Away
What a shame to end on a cover, but fittingly it's a Beatles track (though a Lennon number sung by Noel); apart from the WTSMG remaster, this was only made available as a Japan-only b-side to Some Might Say.
Noel swaps out one word in the lyrics but I don't think it's enough to earn pre-fab pop-star style "change a word, take a third" royalties.
It's a pretty faithful cover, same tempo, same instrumentation - would have been nice to hear 1995-Liam sing it instead, but whatever. 6/10
And that, my friends people, is it.
No score yet from anyone for "Who put the weight..." or "You've got to hide..."; once there are some I'll crunch the numbers.
There are 81 songs where 4 or more members (apart from me) offered an opinion.
There are 24 songs where only one member offered an opinion or score.
Monkeytennis offered 47 opinions and/or scores Forever 53 Bornslippy 55 JP 60 Sully 82 Mahoney 91

Roll with It 7 Shout It Out Loud 6 Sittin' Here in Silence (On My Own) had to fire this one up as I don't remember it at all. 5 Slide Away 9 Soldier On 5 Some Might Say 9 Songbird 8 Stand by Me 7 Stay Young 10 Step Out 7 Stop Crying Your Heart Out 7 Street Fighting Man 6 Sunday Morning Call 5 Supersonic 8 Take Me Away 5 Talk Tonight 8 Thank You for the Good Times 6 The Cage pink floyzz 5 The Fame 8 I'd give anything for a Liam version of this, I don't care about the shit lyrics, nor the shit vocals, it makes me feel 15 again, this was one of my fav oasis songs back in the day too, used to take the dog for a walk with my walkman and belt this out on repeat The Girl in the Dirty Shirt 6 never been overly keen on this one The Hindu Times 6, the demo is so much better, minus noel. The Importance of Being Idle 7 one of the better later noel numbers The Masterplan 9 The Meaning of Soul 6 The Nature of Reality 5 The Quiet Ones isn't great but I've a soft spot for this little tune 6 The Shock of the Lightning 8, I have good memories of being outside after I think a dirty pretty things gig with Sam and him belting this out until the security asked us to go home The Swamp Song Monster live, never cared too much on record, 6 The Turning 8 Those Swollen Hand Blues had to youtube this, isn't even on my PC, don't think I've ever heard it before. This is probably the most SGT Peppers sounding thing Noel's ever done. This is just first impression but 6/10 To Be Where There's Life, plods too much for me 6 Turn Up the Sun 7 Underneath the Sky 9 Up in the Sky 7 Waiting for the Rapture 6 Whatever 9 Where Did It All Go Wrong? 7 Who Feels Love? 8 Who Put the Weight of the World on My Shoulders? 4 Wonderwall 8 Won't Let You Down 6, You've Got to Hide Your Love Away, 5 the first mp3 I ever downloaded.

Nature of Reality is like a really shit attempt at BRMC with a really dull blues riff that doesn't ever really go anywhere. I'll take the little acoustic tune anyday
& everyone knows I was always a pussy.

My point was more that the nature of reality is AT BEST a 2 and the quiet ones is an embarrassment. You're grading easy.

Anything with Liam’s vocals automatically gets probably 2 points more than it deserves

These tracks only had 1 or 2 non-Lino opinions offered; anyone care to add anything so that the scores are a bit more representative?
