well done, good song anyway but liams voice elevates it again, cant understand why it wasnt used....seems well within his register? wonder if it was a liam sung version that was primed for wtsmg and noel used his version once it relegated to bside status? and its only a small thing but its a little treat the way he twists the melody on a couple of words

This is almost as exciting as hearing some news about Guigsy:

Ace. Knocks the recorded version into a cocked hat with no effort whatsoever. Imagine having mid-90s Liam as your singer and not letting him sing everything...

Noel's version of Sad Song is far better.
Step Out sounds great but do prefer the slightly different vocal melody in the released version even though it's that voice. Would love to hear the full version.
I'm far more team LG nowadays but still not in the corner of any song would have sounded better with Liam singing. Perhaps mainly just to disagree with nonce boy baz.

Speaking of Oasis related tunes with a different vocalist, just stumbled across this:

It's the demo of the Beady Eye track.
A bunch of the Gen demos leaked a while ago, including his version of The Roller, and Ballroom Figured.

This is news to me. Thanks for nothing Fuzzy Dunlop, I rely on you for this kind of useless information
I remember Gem mentioning the Roller a long time before Heathen Chemistry came out so I'd imagine it's from then? Not that it's a classic, but how did this not end up on one of the last 3 Oasis records?

Not that it's a classic, but how did this not end up on one of the last 3 Oasis records? before hc i believe, when i was still in a madferrit era, and noel made one of his ludicrous "sounds like t-rex doing the beatles" statements and i swallowed it whole, imagining some glam rock, psychedelic stomper!!!! (maybe we got that with lyla tbf!) i suppose if he'd said "sounds like a pub band, literally rewriting instant karma, even down to the drum sound but with the melody from all you need is love and liams sounds like hes having an asthma attack....uh uh" i'd have probably not have been as pumped. not the worst tune but a poor choice of first proper single for beady eye, four letter word would have got them off to a flier
