In the space of a week Lewis Capaldi has completely destroyed Noel. Took him apart. Made him look like the old boring dullard that he is. It's been glorious.

tune is a bit plodding but i reckon there's potential for a really good remix of this.

Honestly, it's amazing how bad he is.not just his actual range or whatever but there's no kind of emotional intelligence (or whatever), it's like he's singing in a language he doesn't understand.

Added to that he's confirming he's a total mong with his latest batch of interviews.

As my wife put it the other day when I put his last album on in the car, and she heard ‘dead in the water’ for the first time: why doesn’t he do that? He’s GOOD at that.

exactly. it's like he's so scared to commit any sort of feeling lest his carefully-tended-to mask slips, so nothing has any depth. just skates along over the top of these tunes, diminishing them vastly.

that interview is so mean spirited. i think it's actually a good one in the way it's handled by the interviewer. but here are the takeaways:

- climate change is fine, because he gets to wear a t-shirt
- no need to be worried about king jong un because he likes basketball
- he didn't vote because why should things change
- fuck the future because some grandkids might be cunts
- skips around a gender question by saying his is mancunian
- worms and weasels his way out of his glasto hip hop comments by saying it was the guardians fault
- the left ("these people") are all communists
- corbyn can't be a leader because of his first name (don't get me wrong, i'm no fan of corbyn of the labour party at present)

The sophistication comments make him sound like a proper cunt.

Song’s not so bad, just odd that someone who’s made his millions from someone else singing his songs seems hell bent on singing things himself when they clearly don’t suit him.

noel has no emotional honesty.

It pains me to give Noel anything like the benefit of the doubt, but I think that those points are more a case of him trying to fit his flippant responses (which he's always done and probably works really well with his pals at The Sun) to a broadsheet supplement rather than things to be taken at face value.

oh sure, i totally agree. which is why i think he has no emotional honesty. he knows he's more value to morons as an interviewee than an artist.

As a man who has long been tempted by the cheap gag over the serious point, I find it hard to judge him for that.

What puzzles me about the ongoing beef is that some of the things he accuses Liam of doing sound pretty nasty - a continuation of the "intimidation" claims from 2009 if you will. Yet all of the family seem to be closer to LG than Noel, and it was the same with the band, management, road crew etc. after the split (ok, the Beady Eye albums were to an extent the end of Oasis' Sony contract). Something doesn't add up.
