I had a big The Men phase on 2012-2014, I thought all those release were great but then got a bit filled up with them. Coming back to them my favourite is Open Your Heart easily.

Opening track of US Girls is perfect pop music
Edit: first listen through and it's a stunner.

Quite enjoyed the Malkmus album on first listen, but it's as if he had one idea and dragged it out for an entire LP, so I'm not sure how much staying power it'll have.

It's kind of split into 4 parts by the talking interludes. The run of 3 tracks in the middle - State House (it's a man's world):Born To Lose:And Yet It Moves/Y Se Mueve - for me is brilliant. Also the next 2 - Denise Don't Wait: Woodstock 99. And the second to last - The Quiver to the Bomb.
And the first 2.
In fact, it's all quite brilliant.

That Disq album is shit. Sounds like a 3rd rate Weezer or a band pretending to be Pavement on buffy the vampire slayer

So far, so good. I can see why mahoney despises it, but it's quite decent if only a bit generic/harmless on first listen

I really like Daily Routine, and then the last 2 tracks. But after 2 or 3 listens, the rest is a bit forgettable so perhaps I was a bit premature which is something I have grown to live with.

Just discovered weller put out an experimental EP earlier this year. It’s sub-revolution 9 stuff. Yikes.
But also discovered a bunch of old doves b-sides I’ve never heard so all is not lost.

I want Weller to book an arena tour and just play 3 hour sets of that kinda shit
wait for everyone to leave and then play Changing Man & Going Underground.

Did you see any of the shows where he played sonik kicks front to back to open the show? It was actually kind of like that. All the wellends were getting extremely frustrated to the point where I saw some leave, finished the album set, sets up for an acoustic set and the first thing he does is the butterfly collector. High comedy,
