I just came here to cry
Self tilted debut is the fucking best
Belong was pretty good
Art of pleasure has its moments - and the blonde big titted girl played the keys on tour.
Echos is pleasure I never listened too
Kip is the man.

Let's face it, as much as I tried to pretend otherwise, they were a huge let down after that stunning debut. For me the band ended when Peggy Wang left.
Will give the debut a spin tonight in tribute. RIP

They were so fucking shit that last time I saw them at Latitude. One fantastic record plus 103 from the Higher Than the Stars was a tune. The rest was proper shit & the singer is a dweeb.

My favourite memory of this band is me & Sam making the Rough Trade tent at Glastonbury put Come Saturday on and then proceeding to jump around like cunts. That was the night Michael Jackson died.

A true pains fan wouldn't use such vulgar language. They've a song called This Love is Fucking Right. Pains were edgy as fuck.

Never have I seen a band who all have such punchable faces***. Good grief.
***Not the girl of course, that'd be bad. (clears throat awkwardly.)

I still remember JP's reaction when he heard them for the first time after I introduced the whole forum to them.
Do agree they never reached the heights of the first album though. A few good tracks scattered around but that debut will always hold a special place in my heart :happy cry: (tucker you need to get the happy cry face back ffs)

Nothing compares to the debut, not the songs, especially not the sound, which went sooo cleaned up and poppy. But there are still songs I enjoy a lot despite of that, like Belong, Life after Life and My Only That Tom Petty Cover album is horrendous though. His voice should not be singing those songs (which I'm not a fan of in the first place)

Ah, The memories of Abs and I seeing them in Leeds and had a good chat to Peggy. She was lovely and put up with our drunken musings. Definitely never got anywhere near that level again.
Amazed they survived to 2019 to be honest
