I thought it'd be interesting to see what people put nowadays, as music opinion is a beautiful and fluid thing. Simple rule, choose one album as your favourite from each decade. If this has changed recently, put in brackets what your #1 used to be. You can go earlier than 50s if you want to include that thrilling sophomore effort from Vera Lynn.
50s: Kind of Blue - Miles Davis 60s: Astral Weeks - Van Morrison (used to be Revolver) 70s: Low - David Bowie 80s: Closer - Joy Division (used to be It Takes A Nation of Millions...) 90s: Selected Ambient Works II - Aphex Twin (this is the decade that changes the most for me. At various points it has been between Definitely Maybe, OK Computer, 36 Chambers or In Utero. Still adore all, obviously but I've been on a huge ambient and Aphex kick recently) 00s: Supreme Clientele - Ghostface Killah (used to be Original Pirate Material) 10s: My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy - Kanye West
Let's have yours!

Hahah you can ignore the 10s then. I'd already revealed my top 75 of the 10s on Facebook anyway, and the 3 people who liked it have all the juice

Compelling! The restriction of one album is bordering on sociopathic. Decided not to think too much and just let it flow stream of consciousness style..
1950's - Little Richard - Little Richard 1960's - The Beach Boys - Pet Sounds 1970's - The Clash - TCOTU Calling 1980's - The Fall - Hex Enduction Hour 1990's - Pavement - Wowee Zowee 2000's - LCD Soundsystem - Sound of Silver 2010's - ....

50s - Charles Mingus: Ah Um 60s - Van Morrison: Astral Weeks 70s - This is the hardest of the lot to choose, just because of all the soul and funk, but frankly it has to be Bob Dylan: Blood On The Tracks 80s - Eric B & Rakim: Paid in Full 90s - Silver Jews: American Water 00s - Joanna Newsom: Ys 10s - ?

Wondrous choices. Ys is probably been my number 2 of the 00s
