One of the most overrated bands of all time.
Few decent singles here and there and I did like the album Tommy at one point. I can’t get into anything else.

Once the synths, bass tapping and rock operas came in they became ludicrous

The Who are a great, great singles band. Live at Leeds is also a tremendous album (the original track listing, not the expanded deluxe editions).
But I’ll be honest I’ve never been arsed about their studio albums.

Was over the park by Brixton the other week taking in the sun and could hear this being played at the other end of the park. The outdoor cinema was being set up and they had this on repeat for an hour. Such a fucking tune
AGREE WITH ME EDDIE MURPHY

Kinda what Rocks Man said (Minus the Springsteen hatred)
Those early singles are still wonderful. I fucking love the Isle of White DVD/CD, that absolutely blew my teenage mind. Quadrophenia I do like, tho probably due to the film more than the actual record itself. Wouldn't care if I never heard Won't Get Fooled Again or Who Are You again.
Been years since I've listened to them properly other than Meaty Big & Bouncy.
Still, Eminence Front is FUNK

As much as I hate agreeing with murphs on *anything*, I remember exactly where and when I was when I watched the prince's trust hyde park show in 1996. Canadian MTV showed highlights of dylan's set, following by highlights from quadrophenia and clapton's set. 2 of those 3*** left incredible marks on my musical tastes, to the point that quadrophenia remains my 2nd favourite album of all-time, despite pete still being in his "I'm going deaf, so i'm only playing acoustic, despite entwistle and an orchestra surrounding me" phase.
Got to see them play it properly about 10 years ago and it was one of the 10 best concerts I've ever seen.
***Had a soft spot for clapton too before he went soft-rock anti-vax racist (again) asshat.
