The wild thing is that just 5 years earlier they Woodstock 94 with absolutely no issues.

I just watched it. It is a full 2 hours +.
It is insane.
quick edit: I was going to go on and on to recap. Just so many rapes, sexual assaults, aggravated assaults, arson, folks laying in piss & shit, dehydration hospitalizations, terrible music. I just can't begin to recap all of this. I mean, I knew it was all fucked up, but HBO does a great job at this. these things.
2nd quick edit: then they advertise Coachella at the end as a utopian later alternative
3rd quick edit: they shit all over 1969 (reasonably so, the logistics were beyond shit (didn't exist) and the people were also bad) and make 1994 as out as done really well, though they don't spend too much time then, would be fun so an in depth on that one.
Watch it, though.

There is a bit in The Offspring set where the lead dude was coached from backstage to talk the crowd down, he just bombs. Likely the front of the set. Mildly amusing.

I might go in on that doc tonight, I'm feeling rough as shit & perhaps watching a festival burn to the ground whilst Fred Durst sails over the crowd like Jesus Christ on water will make me feel better.

Watched it last night, good stuff. I can't remember (nor find) the doc I had previously watched. May have been in a a few parts but it was essentially the same thing, tho I think they had a lot more crowd taken footage & less interviews with the artists that played. I don't know who the female talking head was on this one, but her criticism of the festival having a dance tent was bizarre. "Let's shove in some DJ's and some drugs and some kids & we're just keep this going all night"... yeah that's how a late night dance tent works at every festival. Glad they didn't go down the route of blaming the actual acts minus the guy that ran it. You can't go out to Fred Durst mid set and ask him & tone it down, you booked Limp Bizket you daft twat. Perhaps if they hadn't booked the headliners to all be BRO bands things would have run smoother, but charging that much for water & just having 2 absolutely huge stages in that heat where you can't escape anywhere is just asking for trouble. Even at things like Glastonbury I can only manage a few hours at a time on those huge stages and then have to get out of there, it becomes overwhelming pretty quickly. Festivals certainly do often end up being a reflection of whatever headliners you book. At Glastonbury the lineup isn't revealed these days until after the tickets sell out, but when Oasis played in 04 it was announced prior & I've never seen it full of so many groups of blokes. Also never seen a Glastonbury where everybody just pissed everywhere they wanted other than the toilets. No wonder they decide to book Coldplay every other year now

No wonder they decide to book Coldplay every other year now Yeah, mahoney. If/when you remember/find what it was you had seen before, please pass that along. Might have been a retread for you, perhaps you should have watched Pig instead.

Don't worry, I stole Pig from the same place I got Woodstock!
It's really weird that I can't find whatever the hell I watched previously. I'd watched it in the past 3 or 4 years, probably on youtube. Possibly a TV program or something. Either way, not essential as the new doc covers most of it. Still odd that youtube searches aren't finding me anything.

If I blame anyone, I blame MTV, for unleashing the plague of nu-metal on American audiences.
