I listened to it TWICE
I like it. It's just a slab of well produced indie-rock. I doubt it'll have any long staying power but it's good fun. And even if I didn't like it I'd pretend to like it just because I know it'll upset Titch.

I thought Chaise Longue was crap but liked the follow up singles so gave it a listen and would concur with that. The reviewers seem to have gone so giddy over them that the album could never live up to the hype but ignoring that, still good.

I'm listening to it now, but couldn't wait until song 3 to come on here and declare how shit it is.
But 2 songs in. The first song is an entirely forgettable indie pop by numbers song.
The second song is Chaise Longue.
The third song is a little more promising from the first few bars.
I'll be back later.

Made it most of the way through.
It's offensively bland. the indie pop landscape is in a truly dire state if these are the saviours of Indie. If it was released in 2004 it would be forgotten about in seconds.
I could name 10 or 15 better indie/alternative albums from 2004 without blinking.

It's a terrifying prospect.
On paper 15 years ago it's the greatest thing ever.
It can never live up to it.

I don't think it will convert many non Grizzly Bear fans, but those who like them will probably like this. Also, the Dennis Bovell anthology is bloody brilliant.

I'm not sure if the new Jack White album is brilliant bonkers or bad bonkers.
I don't even know if I enjoyed listening to it, but I do know I couldn't stop listening to it.
Suspect it might be one of those records that makes more sense with many listens. Or maybe it will make less sense.
I don't know.

It’s try hard bollocks. He’s still doing those same fuzzy rifs that sound more and more tired but throwing in curveballs that feel completely forced so he can say ohh I’ve found a new sound!
Plus more importantly, he now has blue hair.
I’m cancelling him

Not sure about the record but I quite enjoyed the Apple thing going through Detroit and the store and factory. I think it's undeniable good to have him going like that

There are a few Neil Young shows from the 70s that will be officially released in May - look out for "Citizen Kane Jr. Blues", live at the Bottom Line 1974, one of the best bootlegs ever. I think this was the first performance of most of the new songs from On the Beach.
Also Mos Def and Talib Kweli have reunited for a follow up to their 1998 Black Star album, which is one of the few rap LPs I can suffer.

I've been chatting to popular forum members Krburg and Mahoney about the new Blackstar album.
Consensus is that on paper it should be good, especially with Madlib on the knobs, but neither Mos nor Talib have released anything decent in some time, so it could be horrible.
I'm excited and terrified in equal measure.

I'd go as far as i'd say that's the best hip hop album i've heard this year. And possibly the last couple of years. Ticks all the boxes for me- super smart lyrics delivered as well as anything i've heard in ages. He has a great flow. The production is bang on too. Cheers for the tip.
