Woah, nice! I've still only heard it the once, found another bunch of hip hop records I'm quite enjoying but wanna spend some more time with them. I basically raid RYM charts for boom bap or jazz rap and hope for the best.

Gave the Bodega album a once through. Fun in places and I like the big warm production, ut it dragged a bit over 12 songs tbh.
Can I imagine them better live than on record as popular forum member Mahoney alluded to in his unrated gig review.

He has no right to be making stuff this good after so many years. It could be from 1990 but sounds fresh as fuck. Nice tip JP.

New Spiritualized is their best in years. Loving it. Have to agree with this. It's really very good. Best thing they've done in a very long time.

Spiritualized sounds like Spiritualized! Probably one of the strongest things he's done in years. Doesn't sound like he's crying over his wife too much either now, well done Jason!

A good day for new releases yesterday - Spiritualized, Fontaines, Psychedelic Porn Crumpets, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. Also a psych rock album by a group called Somali Yacht Club that I quite liked on first listen

Nice one, Fuzzy, will check that out for sure.
Gotta say, I'm not too fussed on the new Fontaines on 1st listen. It's ok I guess but not blowing me away.

Fontaines is my #1 AOTY so far - I know it's early in the year but I am really liking what I am hearing on that record.

Really enjoying the new Spiritualized record. I've not been arsed with them for years, only really like a couple of records anyway, but his new one is great.

That new SAULT album is so bloody good after a few listens.
A complete direction change from covering so many soul/funk styles in the previous 5 records to an orchestral/choral/operatic widescreen almost completely instrumental modern classic.
It has no right to be as good as this. The track Solar is just breathtaking.
The producer behind them (Inflo- real name Dean Josiah Cover) has been quietly racking up awards over the last few years and rightly so- he's an unusual talent if you ask me.

Been scouring Bandcamp for new stuff and came across Weeping Mist. It was the album art that caught my eye : They've only got 2 tracks with an album due in April but I'm totally digging it. This on Bandcamp now. Really enjoying it so far.

I'm working though quite a lengthy list of recommended new hip hop from this year.
In addition to the Elzhi and Chill Rob G albums that Mahoney and JP have recommended the following are decent listens.
From the Griselda camp the new Conway the Machine and Benny the Butcher albums are both good.
As well as:
Micro by Nerves Baddington Unwound by Mopes Ghosts of Rockingham by Bravenous
More to come.
