How many of you have played music live in front of a crowd? Me and a mate from work might be performing a set of covers at our works Christmas party. Lots of people want us to do it but I don't know if I'm good enough at singing and playing in sync. Been practicing more this week, and I did a little take of The Masterplan (that I've been practicing) which I think sounds pretty decent. But then there's nerves and how that could have an impact. There'll be like 250 people at this party so I think I'd be totally shitting myself tbh.

I've played live many times over the years, in a few different bands. My own stuff I'm generally singing and playing guitar, or if playing with other people usually either guitar or drums, though haven't done it for a while. Oddly, tonight I'm playing my first gig in years, helping a mate out by playing some bass.
I've done a few solo acoustic things over the years, i'm sure you'll be fine. Got plenty of time to practice, i'm sure once you have that gig confirmed and you start practicing with a specific gig in mind, your instincts will kick on and you'll get there easier. It's always the way, good to go in a little uneasy as well, get's the adrenaline flowing.

I am going to see popular forum member Krburg perform tonight!
As for me, my only live performance was a spur of the moment acoustic performance at the top of a hill at Glastonbury where I knocked out Rolling Thunder, Gotta Be Free, Don't Look Back Into the Sun, Songbird (most likely) & The Last of the international playboys which I got so into I forgot to carry on strumming as I punched the air in sheer joy.
Then there was me & BenoƮt Assou-Ekotto's piano performance at Glastonbury, many people requested to take over the piano but we knew we were creating something that would stand the test of time.
So no, I've not performed live. But go for it Tux & have someone record it so we can release it on Bat Chain. TUCKERMAN LIVE AT THE WORK DO

Didn't someone on the forum once support the Bluetones as well? Have a vague memory of that

Tell them you're going to do covers, only to turn up & perform the Weekend EP in full. Then say "The next songs called Wonderwall" & break into The Weekend EP again. Push the mic stand over, down a pint of JD & walk out with your guitar flung over your shoulder into the wilderness.
