The Rat is a great tune.
*But* The Walkmen were a poor man’s version of Jonathan Fire*Eater.
Yes, I only found about the latter through Meet Me In The Bathroom, but they are tremendous.

I rushed to hear that band after reading said book. Thought they were a bit MEH.. which makes them 10 times better than the Walkman!

I remember someone throwing a pint over Slipper as he kept shouting for The Rat when they supported the Black Keys  he deserved it too! was the only good song in their set! |

I've got a lot of time for the walkmen. I've liked bits of all of their albums, and lots of some. I reckon they've got a decent 20 track best of.
