Any love for this band? In my opinion, one of the great bands from Canada. Twice Removed, One Chord to Another, Navy Blues and Between the Bridges are all great albums. After that they fell off a bit with age.
They always reminded me of the Beatles way more than Oasis ever did. All four members in the band trade vocal duties and contribute to songwriting. Great live band too!
Check em out if you haven't, a real hidden gem. I've probably made this same topic before, but oh well.

Not bad! Think the lead singer had a stroke or something if I was reading correct.

Not bad! Think the lead singer had a stroke or something if I was reading correct. I never knew that! I just saw them live last month and he seemed to be in good shape. They did add a fat dude on keys who was hitting all the high notes for him. Also, if you watch closely, I make a cameo in this video at the 3 minute mark...

Also, glad to see the forum elites chiming in on this topic. Srk gave me a cherished Noel acoustic bootleg once upon a time. Clearly barny finally got a grip. Giz a Hug has the best name on the soapy.

It wasn't a stroke, Chris had bell's palsy for a brief period last year.
And yes, I believe i am known as the forum's leading sloan expert.
For the record, I hope everyone in CHOIR CHOIR CHOIR dies in a FIRE FIRE FIRE.

Love Sloan, I was cycling a few days ago and went into overdrive during Money City Maniacs and If it Feels Good Do It.

For the record, I hope everyone in CHOIR CHOIR CHOIR dies in a FIRE FIRE FIRE. LOL I don't disagree on the Choir Choir Choir thing. I thought it was cool for a second, I knew the guy who did all the filming for them, but it soon became apparent that if you weren't part of the 'inner circle' you're pretty much there to fund their ventures. For something that started as a drunken singalong in a bar, it turned into a pretty self righteous shit fest. The Sloan one was great though, at the end most people cleared out, but Chris and Jay hung out and pretty much took requests and sang a bunch of tunes for the twenty people who stuck around. Funniest moment was someone asked them to play 'She Says What She Means' Chris was like "On an acoustic guitar?! Fuck it, here goes." and they did a really dodgy version with Chris singing over Jay as he struggled to play it. The highlight was Chris laughing when he sang the line "This sort of thing is below me." Really fun night. Those guys are so down to earth, and clearly still love what they do. It's refreshing.

I watched all of their solo acoustic livestreams during the pandemic, and Chris' "I'm going to do 4 separate shows with no repeats" act was pretty cool. Was great to see all 4 of them dusting off the deep cuts at various stages, since there's basically a 0.0% chance you'd ever see them do something like "the life of a working girl" or "amped" live.
And yeah, I had a chat with Chris after the TUNS/Joel Plaskett show in Ottawa last week. It's great to see they still have the love for doing the work, as you say.
