As the thread mentions. Please post your most disappointing album of the year.
For me it was Whitney - SPARK
I had the bar set pretty high for these guys and I figured the pandemic would make them EMO as fuck and they would bring out some beautiful harmonies amongst dark and depressing lyrics. I seem to feel the opposite happened ffs. The record got a few "bangers" but my lord I was heavily disappointed.

Have you tried the Live at Electric Lady thing they've just released? Maybe that helps you getting into the new sound.
For me maybe it's Big Times by Angel Olsen. I think she's an amazingly talented composer and performer but couldn't really get into these songs mostly. Not actually a matter with the genre or the production or the lyrics, can't put my finger on what's wrong tbh but I'm relieved people don't see it that way. Looking forward to her next one for sure.

Lykke Li - Eyeye. Was billed as a return to the classic sound after her attempt & R&B kinda flopped so I was excited. It was so forgettable that I can't actually remember a single tune from it.
Yard Act - The Overload. Wasn't bad, has its moments, but a huge step down from their early singles.
EP wise, both the releases by Burial were dull as fuck.

Yeah Yeah Yeahs was the big one for me.
I was also really disappointed with the change in sound for Peel Dream Magazine after loving their last albums.
Debut LPS from Courting and Lounge Society were disappointing too given I'd really enjoyed the early EPs/singles from both.

Sounds like this could make an interesting Insta post. Something to think about.

The Working Mens Club second album was dismal.
Also agree about Burial. Neither EP grabbed me.
