I would have actually included that if I'd known but I think that might also have been the most prominence it would have got outside of his own Twitter page.

I was curious about him since I hasn’t heard that name in ages. This line from his Wikipedia page spoke to me, for no particular reason whatsoever:
“When he (Squire) came up with new stuff I didn't like his lyrics or tunes. I could have gone with it and made quite a lot of money, but I wasn't interested."

Digging the new ride as well, but I could listen to them play this kind of stuff for hours regardless. Just keep Andy away from trying to write an oasis-type song and he’s great.

Looking forward to Drahla. Loved their debut.
I notice fuzzy never includes much hip hop on these lists. Potentially the biggest racist since Connor Gallagher?
Talking of racists, the ladrock community is excited for the debut album by THE K'S today. A band real spezial geezers like myself and columbia rocks man know all about. I gave the album a whirl this morning and while I struggle with the singers voice they undoubtedly have some big tunes to drink 4 pints of Madri to.

So... yep, I'm enjoying the new Libertines record, which comes as a surprise after singles (misleading choices imo) left me cold. It finds them sounding cleaner but not as annoyingly as I thought and a sound fitting some of the few new things they're trying (female choirs, strings, winds, more ballads). Didn't find any clunker (not sure about John's track though) although I'm yet to see how many tracks are actually brilliant
It's interesting to see a mature record from a band initially driven by a chaos and danger, but in a way it feels closer to their pre-debut demos than anything else. I've changed my mind to think that those rough edges that I thought I'd be missing might felt more unauthentic than a few ballads and some bouncy singalongs. It's not mindblowing, but glad they're doing fine tbh

Michael Head & the Red Elastic Band have a new record coming out next month called Loophole!! He has four new tracks up on streaming platforms - they are somewhat reminiscent of his last record but with a prominent touch of early Pale Fountain's 80s lightheartedness. They are EXQUISITE.
Dear Scott was by far my favourite record of 2022 and having another album of Mick's out so soon is the best news of the year.
