As far as Karl is concerned, the only thing Debbie is good for these days is the ironing and making Liam's packed lunches.

I'm not so sure tucker.
In Karl's world it is the woman who is the bread winner and goes out to work hard while he stays at home doing pitiful attempts at the housework. I've heard rumours that Helen earns more in a week than Karl does in a year.

This is really bad. Sad to see people try to convince themselves in 2024 that a record that sounds like a poor follow up to the Seahorses album is of any worth. Should have just released Mars to Liverpool as a one-off as that's the only song worth hearing again. I'm a Wheel is one of the worst songs I've ever heard. John Squire is fucking tragic. To think he had an instantly recognisable guitar sound on those early Roses songs to then trade it in for some horrible tasteless white boy blues bullshit over the past 30 odd years. Liam's management had been on point since nis solo career started, this is a huge misstep. Hopefully they wake up and bring back the song-writers rather than entertain ever recording with a washed up bum like Squire again. Total cuntery. Fuck off Karl, I’m a wheel

Seems I’ve ruffled a few feathers with my honest assessment.
I’ll leave you all in peace to worship the seahorses leftovers & I’ll see you all in the mercury prize winning Dwayne Gallagher acoustic breakup album thread in the very near future!

This album is patchy at best. And that’s being charitable. On this evidence, Squire simply did not have enough tunes to make an album.
I’m surprised someone at Team Liam didn’t intervene and tell Squire to up his game, produce four or five better tracks or fuck off. Because this LP contains some proper turkeys. The lyrics are too often proper cringe as well.
Just Another Rainbow is fine. It’s how you’d want an LG/Squire song to sound. I’m a Wheel is not fine. It’s garbage.
I’m surprised at the positive reviews this album has received. It’s a poor Seahorses reunion record with LG on vocals. It’s not the worst record either of them has been involved in. But it’s definitely up there.
I’m more surprised Liam felt the need to contribute to this Squire project. It’s not done him any favours. It’s the kind of record LG might have made in desperation post-BDI split. Is he really that bored of his solo career already?

You say it's not done him any favours but it's had very good reviews. At least in terms of critical acclaim, it's done well so I'm sure he'll be very happy and not too concerned that a dying forums very own Postman Pat thinks it's absolutely terrible.
Whether anyone thinks the tunes are there or not, I can see why Liam jumped at the chance of working with Squire tbh. He was part of The Stone Roses who I'm sure Liam absolutely adored. He's pretty much getting to work with one of his idols, no?
As for the lyrics, I don't think there as bad as some of the stuff we've heard from Beady Eye or solo Liam. In fact, the only ones I cannot get away with in the slightest are Mother Nature's Song. The lyrics to that are absolutely honking. Everything else, I'm fine with. Nothing really makes me wince or wish I could unhear what I'd just heard.
I'm still enjoying the album and hope they do another.

He's pretty much getting to work with one of his idols, no? The power dynamic in this duo is not Squire > Liam. Squire has released no music of any value since 1994. Liam sells out arenas. One of them is a bankable top tier music star. And it’s not the one who who passes himself off as a painter. How many of these tracks were rejected Roses demos? You’d bet at least half a dozen.

I'm not questioning that. We all know Liam is the bigger draw these days. But he's obviously jumped at the chance of working with Squire due to his love of The Stones Roses.

Its a cool little record, I don't know people get miffed about the lyrics? Johns always had some slightly odd ball lyrics - "a dog fish eggcase" anyone? - but it beats shoehorning shine into every song and / or something about the weather or souls! I quite like them tbh. And if some of them were roses demos, so what? Same with "minus blue"; get the best bits re-recorded. It's a solid 7/10 record, personally my favourite post oasis gallagher album

This is not terrible but none of the songs make the project worthy. The only song that surprised me a bit was Make It Up As You Go Along, which has some Liam fronting early Stone Roses vibe. Don't think I'm a wheel is as bad as some people seem to think though, just one of many meh songs.
Melodies and structures are trite, guitars are not as exciting as they should, production is what you expect, there's no bite. It should probably just been an EP or something. Decent enough for lads and fanboys, but a second record sounds a bit like a nightmare.

Listen it's pretty good. It's alright - let's be happy we get to hear Liam sing some naughty lyrics and Squire play some good riffs and let's be thankful Sardy wasn't around to touch it.
