For some time now ive had the feeling that theres been a lack of grooves on Soapy. Im sure we can all agree that a groove thread is simply necessary ;D .
In order to get things properly started Im intending to unleash upon you one of, if not ''the'', most insane grooves of all time (imo), so you better be prepared. It's by one-eyed gaylord genius legend James Booker who, among other things, reminds us to all watch out for the C.I.A-ehhh
Next up is an artist by the name of Greg Perry that I think I first came to hear of through the (in Netherland) hugely popular radio programme ''Paul Weller's Vinyl Classics''. sort of like a Curtis Mayfield groover but via Motown.
Last on is a cover of Latimore's ''Let's Straighten it Out'' sung by the boss of southern soul, O.V. Wright.

Since the groove is still incontrollable I just feel I need to post some more of em.
Al Green's first proper album (his first one for Hi any way) has always been my favourite cos its more straight up southern soul, before he got his own style and all. This groove is on.
Another one of my favourites is the song Booger Man by The Gaturs & Willie Tee. A Sick groove, really.
In what other decade than the 80's could you have a Talking Heads cover by the Staple Singers. Disco gospel.
Last tune for now is by a wonderful group called Sister Sledge
