But other cities didn't do it when they're weren't any mosques so I don't think that's the reason.

Not in big enough numbers to distract people from the great boundary debate.

I use to to obsessed with golf I'd play a coupe of times a week (when I was younger and green fees were cheaper) I also had a pretty big backyard at my old house and constructed a chipping/putting area to fool around on.
The sad thing is I haven't really played in a few years now it's just too expensive and not enough of my friends like it enough to play it regularly. I live 2 mins away from a golf course now I might start playing more next year.

Bob, I've played golf since I was about 10 (just took it up when the summer was on & nae fitbaw!). Great game, really really addicitive and the only game you can get worse the more you play. I ended up playing off 6 but havent played in a comp for 12 years so not sure what I'd be and I'd rather not spend money on the membership for a decent course
Tip is get a lesson from a pro to help you set up your stance, grip & swing. Also be wary of going to the range cos you end up rattling 100 balls in 10 mins and get knackered and not concentrate on the swing. Go for a round/9 holes and that'll give you a chance to relax and take your time over each shot. Remember the swing can be a simpy action.....or the most complicated thing ever with you trying to remember 100 different things. Straight back and straight back through is the best bit of advice I ever got.

Aye, there's nothign more relaxing than being on in 2 only to 4 putt / Not taking your time, along with trying too hard and lifting your head are probably the easiest mistakes to make. One of the best things about golf is that you don't have to be brilliant to enjoy it, you're not letting anyone else down if you're playing like shit so you can really play against anyone and still enjoy it.

We're only really going to the range because none of us have any clubs and you can hire them there Plus it'll giv ethe others a chance to see if they can "get into the swing" of things I played between the ages of about 14 and 16 but it'll take a while for me to get back into it though. What i'm tempted to do is find a little pitch & putt course and go for a couple of rounds there, because i know for a fact if we go to a proper course and are as shit as we're expecting there'll be some cunts there in yellow pants taking the piss out of us and that won't end well

I used to play some in my early student says on a free (not really free, paying was optionial. In fact, it wasnt optional but the course was unguarded and you had to put the money in a little box) course with shitty greens. Drove there in the sweden bus with three good friends and had a blast walking on the almost empty course hitting drivers like there was no tomorrow. My playing was a bit uneven, but on the last round there I hit 4 pars i think. Ive still got the golf set that I bought for 50 snoobs back then and in the later years I got a cool as golf bag that's in leather and looks like bowling shoes. Been thinking about taking it up when I get the money and time for it. I shoot some balls occasionally and Im alright for a chap having played so little. I do however dont like the gay etiquette of the golf course etc. Good game though.

Love a bit of golf. Always find it funny its seen as this elitist things in other countries, but in Scotland its not seen that way at all I don't think. You get some stuffy and pratty clubs but in Aberdeen we have about 8 council courses that are cheap as chips and about 10 other courses that are less than £10 a round. Even got a free 6 holer just down the road from me. Pretty sweet really. Plus Aberdeenshire has some of the most beautiful settings for courses in the whole of fucking golf in my opinion.
Usually try and play once a fortnight during the Summer. Having said all that I'm absolutely hopeless. I've never bothered joining a club to get a handicap but I'd pit it around 18 and that is being pretty generous. Such a frustrating game ain't it? In a typical round I can usually hit around 6 pars, and with a bit of luck maybe a couple of birdies. Pretty decent. Yet I've never ever had a round where I haven't had a completely disastrous hole or three.

Going down the driving range tonight, it's £5.50 for 100 balls and club hire.
Just managed to get a bargain on ebay as well, 3 sets of clubs with bags, balls, tees, towels and umbrellas (not full sets, i think there's 2 woods, 5-6 irons and a putter in each set) - £20 for the lot, got to collect from Bolton. Obviously they're not new, but they're decent brands (Pinseeker, Hippo and Bay Hill). They're ideal starter sets and are only £6.66 a set.

Enjoyed the driving range, so did everyone else as well. Can't wait to get my own clubs now.
Didn't bother with a driver tonight, i just used a 6 iron and a 7 iron. Took quite a few shots to get back into the swing of things but after a while i hit quite a few nice clean shots. Sliced loads though, was getting a good 150-170 yards on the 6 iron and around 130-140 on the 7 iron.
We're going back on Monday but we'll have our own clubs then, hopefully having a go on a pitch & putt course next week as well to get some short game practice.

slicing usually means your hands are coming through too quickly. Try slowing it down and little and getting your weight shifted from back to front a little better

There's a lot more than i expected. The set i picked has a full set of Regal Tristar Tour irons (3-9, pw, sw), 2 Hippo Alliss Advanced woods (1, 3) and a Bay Hill Red Face III putter, and the bag also contained 50 tees, 10 balls, a towel and other bits. The other sets also have almost full sets of clubs, one is in a leather pinseeker bag, the other in a plain black stand-bag. The other two sets both had full waterproof suits in them, with golf gloves as well. The clubs have a few rust spots which i'm cleaning up now, my brother claimed the Pinseeker set, some of the clubs in that look like they've been left in salt and are a bit corroded but nothing a bit of steel wool won't fix. All in all, we got a fucking bargain at £6.66 each.

Just went for my first round, only 9 holes. Finished 21 over par (par was 35, i went round in 56) Really enjoyed it tbh, can't quite judge the distance properly yet, kept over-hitting or under-hitting it with the wedge from around 20-30 yards. Putting wasn't too bad though.
