saw The Nightmare Before Christmas in 3D a few years ago (before we had a 3D cinema in Liverpool and we had to go to Cheshire Oaks - missing the last bus and train back and had to pay £29 for a taxi!). Thought it was good but not great. There was a little preview thing before it of a pumpkin-headed jack-in-the-box which was brilliantly done in 3D, the 3D effects in the rest of the film weren't that good tbh
Still a brilliant film mind you.

I still haven't seen anything in 3D. Besides real life n that. i saw the (animated) 'despicable me' in 3D and it was really cool. then i saw (live action) 'step up' in 3D and it was shit. i'll probably only see 3D again at the cinema if it's animated. have you seen avatar in 3d?

have you seen avatar in 3d? i haven't seen it at all yet. 2 or 3D. fucking hell. anyway, though its hard to tell what is CGI and what is filmed on sets in avatar I asked because there is two types of live action 3D film, things like clash of the titans were shot in 2D but when studio execs got wind of the fact that avatar was going to be huge it was fiddled about with on a computer to create a 3d effect after it was finished. Avatar on the other hand intended to be in 3D from day one was shot with 3D cameras invented specifically for avatar and the direction, cinematography and editing of the film were all done with 3D in mind. I'm not sure which of the two techniques was used for that dance film you mentioned but its likely to have been the shitty one. Judge live action 3D on avatar not some shitty cheap thing!

I was rather disappointed with the 3d effect in avatar. there was a trailer to "alice in the wonderland", or whats it called, and it was much better. only a trailer though
