I didn't know you had such a taste for french movies. Do you watch them with subtitles or dubbed? always subtitled. i have a high tolerance for reading movies. love the french ones, also have spanish ones and a few german. some of the dvds are dubbed i think, but i only watch with subtitles. i prefer to hear the original voices. 99% of foreign films i see on dvd. there is an 'indie' if you will, theatre in downtown chicago and 2 in north suburbs (i live in south suburbs) so they don't really come out near me unless i want to drive close to 2 hours and my friends don't particularly like subtitled flims. i'm pretty much alone on that subject. 'heartbreaker' with romain duris that i posted in the coming attractions thread is out at those theatres right now but i'm sure i'll be able to get the dvd in a couple of months. i have so many in line to watch, i can always wait.

Heartbreaker is pretty nice; no masterpiece, but nice. For the french market, it qualifies as "general public" rather that indie, btw.

Just watched 'Le Boucher'. /it was ok, described as a masterpiece apparently. I don't think it deserves that accolade tbh.

what are the french opinions about 'le refuge', chuze?
i was reading my elle magazine yesterday and in the film section, it was saying 'heartbreaker' and 'hideaway' were coming out here this month (already knowing about 'heartbreaker').

another one for detective chuze.
French movie, from circa 1990- 1992 perhaps. Its about two brothers, one of Israeli descent and one of Palestinian. Its a hard core action thriller, from what i remember. Perhaps one is a cop. One guy gets tortured by having to drink gasoline or something.

I haven't seen the Refuge. Is that Ozon?
Fungus, are you these two guys were actually brother? I'm sorry, it doesn't ring any bell.

Another good one that the thread about "A Serbian Movie" reminded me of.
