I'm a massive cunt on the pitch. What a surprise, we all know i'm fucking abominable. I'll keep it brief as the point is for any of you others that play. I play in a generic recreational league on Sundays. We don't exactly have "skill level" requirements beyond the "do you know what soccer is" LOLZ" questions. Anyway, we lost 1-5 last week and I have gotten two massive fucking face bruises from some cunt playing goal who obviously is new to the game (this happens here you see) and received all his cleats straight to the face. We lost. Back to the point. DO ANY ONE OF YOU PLAY FOOTBALL REGULARLY YOURSELF?Stories, pics, etcz...

I played this Spring/Summer in a league when I was living in Halifax. I thought it was going to be a semi serious/recreational league (or atleast that's how they described it). It ended up being the 2nd tier division in the top league of Nova Scotia... I was way to out of shape to be playing it and I spent a lot of time on the bench... but it was fun when I'd get a go on the pitch lol.
I think now that I'm back in Newfoundland I'll start playing with my friends again in a indoor league this winter!

Yes I have pretty much always played since I was wee and played Junior level (semi pro) for a few years in Scotland when I was at Uni. Been at a club in melbourne for 2 years, it's an ex pat British club and not a bad standard (if we had gone up this year it would be state league and semi pro). But I've been playing and co-coaching the reserves this year and we won the league which was good. Presentation Night tmorrow and in with a shout for POTY (8 goals from left mid, 3 MOTMs in the season) but probably wont I love playing football and will try tp keep playing for as long as possible. But it's getting harder. Injuries are taking far longer to get over and the pace isn't what it once was

I play nearly every week with friends, sometimes just for fun sometimes in the university league. I consider myself quite decent, although I'm quite weak physically

I play since the age of 7, so for 15 years now. Don't play too much anymore though because, even though my skills are amazing, I usually get tired after a minute or 15 . We play on saturdays, promoted last year and our now 4th in the league we play in. Usually play left winger/striker or left midfield/central midfielder. My latest goal was a brilliant chip (if I say so myself) with the outside of my left foot. The other 21 players on the pitch were absolutely STUNNED. My brother is in the same team as me so that's pretty cool. The rest of our consists of mainly players who played in the 1st team of our club but are too lazy (or some too old) to play there anymore so our team is quite decent. Also a few friends of mine play in the team so that's a good combo of players my age and some older players. Anyone wants to play a pre-season friendly next season? Would be cool

I miss playing, last time I played I fucking loved it, had a 5-aside tournament in TCOTU with all the post offices in the South of england. We got to the quarter finals though New Cross won it & I later found out they had 3 Millwall under 18's playing for them, cunts. Anyway, great fun but I could barely walk for two days after, work was hell. Miss playing though used to play 5-aside with a bunch of mates, won the league in 2002 was great fun, I was like a cross between Robbie Savage & Paolo Montero. We used to beat teams that were miles better than us by kicking them about until they tried far too hard, great times

Too bad that didn't happen, could've been epic seeing Orch dribbling past the defence in his Fulham shirt, scoring a brilliant goal taking his shirt off and then notice he's wearing a Liverpool one underneath

Last time I stepped onto a pitch my side lots 49-3 in a 5-a-side game.
We were told it was a kick about - it was the Wednesday Night Adidas Premiership (the top of 4 tiers). The opposition were all Ryman and Kent League players and absolutely took us to part.
We scored all of our games in a 2 minute spell. Just before the 3rd was netted I shouted next goal wins, which brought giggles to the other keeper and he missed an easy save.
Strangely we didn't go back. I love playing though

Only recently started getting back into playing properly after years of on/off 5 a side teams that I never really stuck at. In 4th year at school I was captain (well, Vice, but the other lad was always suspended from school or kicked out of the team for being a nutter) of our team that won the league which was the pinnacle of my football career You really can't beat any kind of success though when you're playing; I was on a high from that for weeks. Since the start of this season I've been holding down a centre-mid slot for local Sunday amateur team - sponsored by a music venue that gives us free stovies after every game, and our team is mainly pisshead musicians but its so much fun its unreal. The standard is pretty mixed to be honest. Teams consist of class players that could easily play Highland League or 3rd Division but just prefer a decent job and a fuck around, or hooligan tinkers who are still pissed from the night before. I seem to do alright. But... and maybe this is just viewing the past through rose-tinted glasses, I can't help but feel that I was 10 times the player when I was 15. Its so frustrating thinking that. Last game this Sunday and I really want a goal. Football is ace.

dicked around with it a couple of summers as an early teen. loved it but the dates didnt match well with when i played baseball. have considered playing recreation but dont know anyone else who does it. ideally id find a league at my level which cant be too high, but id love to pretend im an over the top incompetent in a higher up league (pick the ball up with my hands, constantly go offsides, own goals, hand out yellow cards, etc)
