they did a gig together in liverpool about two years ago. well sort of she was up onstage for about half of it. the thing I remember most about that gig though was that before the gig her and abi from the zutons were stood right in front of me having a little chat about going underwear shopping that day and talking about how things fitted etc. I leaked a little bit of sperm.

liverpool music week is upon us, though it now lasts for a lot more than a week. www.liverpoolmusicweek.co.ukbeing dolescum limits what I go to but half the gigs are free - though a cunt to get in if you're not stupidly early - have places sorted for los campesinos and field music so far, sleigh bells (and liars if I can be arsed) is being promoted by a friend so thats boxed off I'd imagine btw ,take a look on the mojo free gigs page, they have a listing for a band called 'the big house' - see who the singer is... Fucking hell, she looks amazing there  Love Candie. Really looking forward to more music from her. |

Bollocks. Candie's album was ok but didn't have much staying power, the (excellent) production masked the fact that a lot of the tunes didn't go anywhere. That's not to say that she doesn't have a superb voice and a load of potential though. She was brilliant live with Edgar Jones & The Joneses as her backing band too.

Its still in regular rotation for me and IMO it is better than anything Howie has done. I love em both and are both quality, but I prefer Candie's music. She's also got a live EP and a few excellent b-sides/sessions that add to her catalog for me, so its not just the record.

I was demanding another kind of record, more band oriented, I think he has some of that inside yet. Never cared about her though. |
