Be interested to know if Primal Scream are any good, I watched them on some BBC thing last month and they sounded fucking terrible. They only had one guitarist and everything sounded so flat. Having said that, often the way BBC records live music leaves it sounding that way, but I just got the feeling that they are gonna suck this time around.

I've not heard the new album. But I know it's gonna be shit. They're doing their 'look guys, we still know young pop stars' bit. You want the Scream to be pissed off and holed up in their studio.

o I've not heard the new album. But I know it's gonna be shit. They're doing their 'look guys, we still know young pop stars' bit. You want the Scream to be pissed off and holed up in their studio. Must say, on first listen I quite enjoyed it... though I can't argue with what you've predicted It's really breezy/light sounding, yet it reminded me of 90s/2000s New Order in spots & despite the fact it is cheesey as fuck for the most part it sounded pretty solid to me. Obviously not a great Primal Scream record, but at least they've not fallen into that creative-void, panicked & tried to make ANOTHER Stones/Faces record like they usually do when they're stuck. At least this new set of tunes (I refuse to say the embarrassing title ) sounds like no other record they've ever put out, for better or for worse. So one big cheesey thumbs up from Old-Man-Mahoney.

They flirted a bit with this sound on Beautiful Future for sure, but it always sounded like a half-hearted attempt & the hangover from Riot City Blues was still stamped all over it.

I'm going to see MEXRISSEY tomorrow night. That's right, the leading Mexican Morrissey covers band.

Lads. I have a dilemma. I got tickets last month to see the Super Furries at a one of a kind outdoor show in Glasgow.. It's not a big festival, more of a small amphitheatre. I saw the Fannies there and it was amazing.
This week I got an all day wedding invite from a mate for the same day. I really like the guy, but the do is fucking miles away and will require an overnight stay. Plus my Mrs will know no one there.
What I'm asking is: can I really sack a mates' wedding for a gig?

Quilt / Manchester The Coral / York
Was weighing up Ashcroft this weekend but it's almost £40 so reckon I'll pass.
Oh and I was offered a free ticket for Travis the other night but turned it down. I'm either a prick or I've got morals, your call (please be prick).
