I really don't think its a decision based on money, if that was the case it would be more beneficial for him to let his contract run out and then move on, he hasn't been right for months, that's clear for all to see, this seems like a personal decision, something has gone on and happened somewhere that we don't know about, whether that involves Fergie, his missus, the club or whatever, we probably won't find out for years or even ever, but I really don't think the money thing is his style he's a scouser playing at man u ffs. he's hardly there for the love of the club.

What's everyone's opinion on the protracted Rooney to City, Torres to United chat? It's obviously very, very early days but that's what's getting banded about already. Not entirely sure I'd be that distraught if Torres left Liverpool, although to go to Man U would be a bit much to stomach. He's really not the player he was a season or two ago and has been misfiring for as long as Rooney. My main issue with it would, first of all, be that it'd be a massive shame that things didn't work out after his incredibly promising time at Liverpool but secondly who would we replace him with is the question I keep coming back to.
Oh well, it's all been worth it to seer Fergie's dejected face.

Gutted aboot this tbh dunno what I can say that hasn't already been said. Maybe he'll change his mind? Who knows? Although I don't think he'll be the player he was last season (ever again tbf) if he does stay. If he's unhappy he should go. But wtf is there to be unhappy about?

I'd be concerned if he wasn't distraught about losing his biggest asset. Me personally, I'm glad he's off. FUCK OFF ROONEY ;D FUCK OFF ROONEY ;D

I was thinking how that first option buy-back clause on Giuseppe Rossi is still in tact. Would love to see him return and this would be the perfect opportunity.

wayne ( ive been tapped up ) rooney statement"I met with David Gill last week and he did not give me any of the assurances I was seeking about the future squad. "I then told him that I would not be signing a new contract. "I was interested to hear what Sir Alex had to say yesterday and surprised by some of it. "It is absolutely true, as he said, that my agent and I have had a number of meetings with the club about a new contract. During those meetings in August I asked for assurances about the continued ability of the club to attract the top players in the world. "I have never had anything but complete respect for MUFC. How could I not have done given its fantastic history and especially the last six years in which I have been lucky to play a part? "For me its all about winning trophies - as the club has always done under Sir Alex. Because of that I think the questions I was asking were justified. "Despite recent difficulties, I know I will always owe Sir Alex Ferguson a huge debt. He is a great manager and mentor who has helped and supported me from the day he signed me from Everton when I was only 18. "For Manchester United's sake I wish he could go on forever because he's a one off and a genius."

Was surprised when they sold him. If Rooney does go and Utd get a decent amount for him, what are the chances of Fergie being given a decent warchest to bring in a replacement and strengthen in other areas (midfield)

find rooneys remarks very insulting to the other players just made up bullshit to deflect away the obvious he has been tapped up and is buggering off for more money its also not his job to tell the management how to run the club to sum up he is an utter kunt

blaming it on wanting to win trophies is just awful, its clearly about money and he's about as subtle as a sledge hammer. still i think he'll stay

Ferguson has already said the offer will stay, he'll hit form and Man Utd will be challengers again and he'll suddenly be happy again IMO.
