I've read some interesting interviews with Nick and Nikolai. Too much Frictions between them, can't see a bright future. Still this album looks quite promising. Apparently Machu Pichu is classic Strokes sound under a hip hop rythm, there are keyboards and Julian layering backing vocals.

"Maybe everyone needed money or something. ‘We gotta pay our mortgage so may as well get this going again.’" "When we hang out and when we work on stuff, it’s great but I’d be lying if I said there wasn’t elements of hostility there. Undertones of hostility and resentment." Yeah they don't sound too excited about this, do they?

I'm sure their rich oil tycoon fathers can pay for them to live in the L.A hills for a few years longer.

They sound like a bunch of women in a band from those interviews.

its good to have a little edge in the band, all the best bands do. I've yet to see them calling each other out Oasis style, could be entertaining, but not really their style.

I saw In Transit again yesterday. It's not very valuable as a film, but it's nice to see those young normal lads freely enjoying life and success.
And I've been thinking lately about First Impressions Of Earth. Surely it's not the greatest album ever, but it was a big evolution in sound and I consider it the only of his kind. You can surely point out some influences but it sounds like no other record to me, which is why I admire and respect them even more.
So yeah, I'm letting the fanboy leaning out a little...
