I actually think this is the best Sports Team recorded song i've heard. I see they've put the album back a few months, I hope it's successful for them, they seem like a good bunch.

yeah, i was looking forward to the bdrmm lp after hearing a couple of tunes a while back. seemed quite nice on first listen but i do struggle a bit with "nu-gaze" in that i'd rather just listen to the originators. i reckon i'd love them live though.

And why does every cunt who’s in a band sing in a god awful emo rude boy accent? has anyone noticed this strange new phenomenon?
It drives me insane and I start to violently shake whenever I hear guitar band vocals on the radio or tv.

You know, I've been talking shit of the post-post-post punk revival so long it's getting really boring but I dunno... I get the mood all them are trying but ALL OF THEM ARE TRYING THE SAME FUCKING THING (but a couple). You know, Taylor Swift or Arcade Fire or Paul Weller or whoever can sound like post-punk if they want to, but a post-punk band like these can't sound like any other fuckin' thing in the world if their lifes went into it. Guitars are always secondary, which could be fine as it can mean they can do great unexpected things but in the end it means they do whatever shit that doesn't add up and it doesn't mind. Singers are just one-geared machines, all cut from the same cloth. It's so unambitious, so dreary, so unexciting. The boundaries are so tight it gets claustrophobic and reviews always highlight little details like a sax in there or a melodic piece in there but that's mostly it. I mean, people used to complain about 3rd tier Britpop bands but it was like a rainbow compared to this endless stream of greys. Fuck. And lyrics usually the same anger-but-sad-but-what-can-we-do pattern too, very little humour on them most of the times. Life ain't always empty, Life ain't always empty? Life ain't always empty! "Life ain't always empty" Blah. Meh.
