underrated footbool players

underrated is the new overrated nowadays so it's hard to say. the closest you can say is probably players from the club you support as you probably see things in them that others don't. in that case, i'd go for nicklas bendtner. he was fucking terrible against shaktar but generally he is a very fine forward indeed. he works very hard (which isn't given credit as he has a big head so people assume him to be lazy), his link up play is fucking fantastic, he's got a handy finish, excellent technique and he's still very young. the amount of stick he gets is completely disproportionate with his ability.

actually i'm gonna contradict myself and say david n'gog. he seems to get slated for not being torres when he is a very useful striker in his own right. impressed every time i see him.

I always thought Gareth Barry was underrated for years. Now I think he's overrated and I don't see what actually brings to a team. No doubt he'll score the winner on Wednesday now...

Only one player mentioned so far is actually under rated and thats Holden.

Tbf it's not impossible for a Premier League regular to be underrated (like Lucas and Kuyt for example) but i agree about Fletcher, he was underrated about 2-3 years ago but everyone knows he's quality now.

Kuyt's played in Champions League & World Cup finals, how can he be classed as under rated? People dont like him because of his style admittedly just like with Lucas but that's not to say he's under rated.

You big time gloryhunters need to look further down the table & leagues to see some proper under rated players. Holden of Bolton has been terrific this season despite hardly any praise in the media, as have James McCarthy & Matt Jarvis to name 2 more

you think that because they get picked for a big team they're not underrated? So just because the manager likes them that means it's not possible for them to be underrated? Your attitude that only smaller clubs can have underrated players is totally stupid.

A lot of Liverpool fans have been saying Lucas is quality for a year now but still all you ever hear is "he's not good enough", "he's not going to take Liverpool forward", "Liverpool will win nothing with the likes of Lucas in the team"

Why can't players at top clubs be underrated, but they can be overrated?
