There's no point in over-analyzing this song, it is what it is, and it sounds pretty good; nothing revolutionary, not gonna change our lives but if I heard it at a pub I'd be all bdi4it dancing like a mong, and you would all be too. So STFU

Babu if you don't like it fair enough, frankly I don't think anyone on here expected you too. But can I just say that even as a peaceful man myself given half the chance I would bludgeon you to death. You are the worst kind of internet cretin. In all your posts, on all subjects. eastside bro

It sounds nothing like Oasis which is a good thing, they have taken it to another direction. I dont get where people dont think this sounds like Oasis. Sure, for a first single it most certainly doesn't sound like something Oasis would release for that, but it most definitely sounds like something they could've done, especially as a b-side. Theres also plenty of reworkings of Oasis songs to draw comparisons to. -Rock N Roll Star acoustic from Toronto radio, I think in 2000. -The version of Whatever from Noel's 2006 acoustic tour. Those are the two that immediately jump out and while they don't have the same tempo necessarily, its a very similar structure. I agree with Ana though, Im not hating on the song

hi soapbox,
i grew to love the track pretty quickly, so energetic. this track, lyrically, does not try to say something poetic, it's more or less a powerful one to one translation of a certain sentiment / emotion. as that its pretty much ace and it's rocking. needless to say, liam sounds ace. can't wait 4 the full album.
here's my take on the lyrics (it's great tune to sing along to btw.):
i bring the light, you get to see / you bring the love, you sex the sea / i see no point, what you thinkin? / i'm gonna out, i'm takin your drinkin' / i get the call, your gettin up / i'm standin' tall, well fuckin tough / it's just your way, you hear me wrong / i hear you say, you're gettin' up, gettin' up / (aaaaah aaaahh aaaaaaahh) / baby hold on, baby come on / baby come on / your gettin up, gettin up / baby hold on, baby come on, baby c'mon, your gettin up, gettin up // repeat // ...I'm comin in, your comin out / I comin up, your comin down / it's just the way, you did me wrong / i hear you say: your gettin up, gettin up / (aaaaah aaaahh aaaaaaahh) / BABY HOLD ON, BABY C'MON!!!
cheers, you know who.

Why are you giving Babu shit when he's presented clear and well thought out opinions in this thread? He's hardly being a dick about it.
I dislike the majority of the music Babu seems to like, but it doesn't make his points any less valid in this thread.
