liam sounds fantastic. and the song has a featherlight joy that i haven't heard in any oasis song for a good while. the backing vocals are top as well! it's a very straightforward song but has the energy to make it more than decent. i also reiterate, liam sounds FANTASTIC. very happy BDI4IT feeling the same on first listen ,mate.

it seems like a lot of people were expecting some epic world changing song Not at all, but I wasn't expecting a mediocre Liam penned Oasis b-side either, and unfortunately that's what we got. Seriously, the lyrics are beyond shit and the guitar is just so uninspired that you'd think Noel was still standing over their shoulder telling them what to play. I'm still excited for the album though because I think there will be a few great songs on it. I just don't understand why we should be forced to kid ourselves and pretend that this song is anything but mediocre. But yes, Liam sounds amazing, I definitely agree there

Clearly liam saves the song. Beady Eye wont ever be as good as Oasis, let's face it, Gem & Andy were never great songwriters, and Liam can only come up with 2 or 3 good songs per album. But maybe he's got a stock of good tunes rejected by Noel, you never know.
I'm hoping for a good album that will be enjoyable enough and wont tarnish the legacy of the gallaghers.

ok. why i don't like this song: 1) you've got a band of old dudes, they've been playing music professionally for like 2 decades at least and then bit some in garages and whatever and the song they come up with consists of 2 parts, a verse that lasts for 45 seconds and involves 3 notes going up and down and then a 10 second "chorus" which is merely a middlepart at most. that would all be hell ok of course if those 2 parts were even a bit catchy or musically inventive. but unfortunately they're not. 2) the mixing is just awful. we have a piano that twinkles in the foreground and in the background there's a huge layer of guitars and bass and you can't really hear any distinctive sounds in that layer. it's just there to make it sound "bigger" ok, ok, they we're obviously going for a "raw" and "vintage" sound a la the stooges or whatever, but you know, i can make out what the guitar players are playing on their albums 3) i don't really get how you people think that liam sounds fantastic. he sounds old, bored, tired and autotuned. on the positive side, it doesn't sound too much like oasis. the negative is that it sounds worse. this is hung in a bad place (the worst oasis song) part 2 edit: and those lyrics. god

I must say that after listening to mahoney's version the original sounded like a fuckin' blast. Still that "shineearraaawww" from the toilet And I can't believe that babu moans about repeating notes and parts in a song, considering the electronic repetitive-to-death music he listens to...

agree with the finn, except for liams vocals which are (not surprisingly) pretty good..yet not FANTASTIC,...
if it´s one of the fillers on the album then i am still looking forward to it...

And I can't believe that babu moans about repeating notes and parts in a song, considering the electronic repetitive-to-death music he listens to... i like krautrock too, CAN YOU IMAGINE? the difference being that the repetition in these songs is the point and the slowly evolving songstructure is intentional. whereas in here it's just lazy and bad songwriting

Babu if you don't like it fair enough, frankly I don't think anyone on here expected you too. But can I just say that even as a peaceful man myself given half the chance I would bludgeon you to death.
You are the worst kind of internet cretin. In all your posts, on all subjects.

Nah. babu has been 51% nice and agreeable with me. He truly does have his own unique tastes. So let him have the them.

He can have whatever 'unique tastes' he likes. That doesn't change the fact I think he's utterly shit.

Don't like it, seriously. And if this is their first single, something that should open them some doors, win new fans and convince old disillusioned fans, then we have a state of emergency here.
It sounds like a tune any professional musician could write in 5 minutes. You can listen to it 80.000 times and learn to love it because after all those spins it start to sound like something you wrote or your brother wrote. But it's a song that a newcomer band wouldn't be allowed to release as a single nowdays. The song offers us nothing really.
It's one minute of song and 2 and a half minutes of coda. Not a good sign. And I don't see why people find a pro in the fact that Liam's voice sounds good. It's a studio track, he has always sounded like this in every studio track he made. Even a donkey with the cold sounds good in a studio.
It sounds like something so harmless and little and childish that I don't even have the courage to slag it off properly. And Liam should get some proper criticism for his songwriting. People on here still treat him like he is the little brother who's doing his best to bloom as a songwriter. It works for a teenager, to tell him that his songs are good even if they are shit so you don't demoralize him. But he's a grown up man who's been writing for 10 years now. And the other members aswell, they have been writing for even more years. How can you come up with something like this?
I'm thinking that all these 60s references (the clothes, the logo, the pictures, the sound-mix etc) are not merely a cute revival-habit anymore but a trick to fill a huge lack of ideas. Kudos to them for trying. But this is not the kindergarten and they shouldn't get credits for 'just' trying.

Decent song, not brilliant, but okay. I did like Noel's 'come on' backing vocals towards the end of the song! Any idea who wrote it? Clever to purposely release this song on derby day but a bit of an anticlimax in the end, the game more than the song.
Did anyone receive a text message about the track yesterday? It was a shock. A text off sender BEADY EYE in upper case. BEADY EYE somehow infected my phone without me ever signing up to an SMS service. Brilliant, now that's rock n roll.

Do we actually know what it is? Has it been confirmed as an album track? Could it be a b-side? A demo?
Having listened to it a fair few times now I think the contact-high has worn off. I like the piano, that's good, and Liam's voice sounds ace. He's not 'forcing' anything out and seems to be just singing without trying to growl. The lyrics are a bit shit but we all know Liam is very hit and miss, lyrically. The other negatives? Production isn't great and the way it's been mixed makes it sound like there's far too much going on. It's also a bit long and starts to get a bit too samey.
What does all this mean? Nothing. It's one song. One song that may or may not be on the album. I'm only going to judge what we have; A decent song which could have been made better if it was shorter and better produced. I'm not going to have any preconceptions on Beady Eye based on this.

I suppose in my opinion I tend not to analyse these thing so deeply mainly because it doesn't warrant a Dylan like anaysis. Its a fun and light rock n roll song, no more, no less. And regardless of why he sounds good in a studio the fact is he does, and its pleasing to hear.

Tucker as far as I know there has been no confirmation on what it is, it is not described as a single on the website. From what i've seen and read so far it would point to it being a album track. But we don't know anything for sure.

Probably an album track yeah. It wont be a one off single, though, those days are over. NME seem to confirm that the bside is a cover: "The song is available for free from the band's official website, Beadyeyemusic.com, and will also be released as a seven-inch vinyl with B-side, a cover of World Of Twist's 'Sons Of The Stage', via the same site." www.nme.com/news/beady-eye/53796

That doesn't change the fact I think he's utterly shit. oh ffs, you're the one who's constantly moaning here. grow up or get antidepressants or whatever. just to make one more point about techno. people don't listen to techno for melody. they listen to it for the composition of different sounds, the groove, the impact on the dancefloor. a bit silly to compare a 60s influenced 'rock'n'roll' to techno
