One listen through on the clean version last night and loved it, I said on another thread, never been a huge West fan in terms of his own stuff, always liked bits but never sucked fully in and I've always preferred his work as a producer as apposed to being an MC/artist, but was really excited about this record, there were some big name producers touted for this album, RZA, DJ Premier, Pete Rock, Madlib, Q Tip, along with Kanye himself and also some nice guests (Mos, Raekwon..).
Not sure all the producers touted have shown up on the final list, I know DJ Premiers beat will be a bonus track (actually wiki has been updated and looks like he has a co credit with Kanye on 'Monster), RZA has a co credit on Dark Fantasy too and Q-Tip has one for all of the lights, i;m eager to see who all the others are..
But yeah, its really good, over-reaching and a bit mad in places, but in a good way, need to sit with it and really take it in, but first impressions are very good

any links to the unedited version perchance?
also, while i'm here, what was the name of that website that used to have links to loads of leaked albums from all genres? it had the artist and album title, a brief description of the genre and then a link to mediafire or some other filesharing site. sorry i can't be more specific.

Only ever liked certain songs/pieces before. was looking on the football365 forum and loads of people who weren't really into hip hop had given the album a chance due to the good press and pretty much all of them loved it.

Yeah I've always been the same, but have to say, he's pulled something out of the bag here, the album is really quite something, as are a few of those GOOD Friday songs, he's in a real purple patch at the moment

Oh yes!
He's on a couple, Lord Lord Lord is probably my favourite of them, Raekwon is on it aswell.
Lord Lord Lord, Chain Heavy and Good Friday are all fantastic I think, the others are all pretty good.
Apparently he's going to release one every Friday until Christmas so it should make a nice collection of songs at the end

aye, the greatest pop star of our times i reckon.
there actually isn't anything approaching a weak link on this album. it's all frighteningly strong. and even with the long songs, it's never pretentious or dull. it's always got big tunes, playful lyrics and each of the songs go somewhere without losing their way.
phenomenal, really.
