Dan, get this book: it's a resort of the 1975 tour (The Rolling Thunder Revue) by a journalist who was travelling with Dylan and the band. Probably the best book on Bob Dylan you can find. trust me, I rarely read a music book as interesting as this (it's +450 pages and I've devoured it in 3 days). Cheers, that sounds really good. Also, the Ray Davies book Kev recommended, though it sounds a bit weird too A few more recommendations Radiohead - Standing On The Edge (only goes up to just before Kid A, but is really good) Manics - Everything (still the most gripping Manics book, by miles) Nick Kent - The Dark Stuff (absolutely essential) Any of the Lester Bangs collections Kurt Cobain - Heavier Than Heaven (pretty depressing really, and obviously it has quite the orrible ending, but its really interesting) Hammer Of The Gods is decent, aye eddie, but i've never finished it. Dunno why. Oh yeah, laziness The Beatles - Revolution In The Head (just brilliant, and all about the music) Oasis - Getting High (still the best Oasis book, IMO, and really funny). The follow-up, Forever The People, was pretty decent too, but flimsy compared

severed alliance can suck it for me, just pure anti morrissey bitterness and im a marr fan ffs. i semi agree with chrissie, meetings with morrissey is great, not flawless by any means, but a much more legitimate portrait of the man.
still giving mozipedia my vote though! its beyond ultimate.

Yeah it helps to be into GNR but you could have zero interest and come away loving that one.

I've read E's book, In Search of the La's and a few about Dylan, including the first part of the autobiography. All brilliant, will get some of the recommendations mentioned.

Luke Haines was in the Auters (who I don't really remember) in the 90's and this is his account of his band and Britpop. The first thing to say is the guy is a fucking prick. The second thing to say is he doesn't give a shit who knows it He loathes everything (especially Brett Anderson) and is basically like a very angry fly-on-a-90's-wall. It's an interesting story of a semi-successful British band and their rubbish American tours, singer's ego and scrapes and tussles in the world of Britpop anyway, but it's so well written and funny as well that y'all should check it out.

Just ordered a book called "The Creation Records Story: My Magpie Eyes are Hungry for the Prize", it has Noel shaking hands with Tony Blair on the cover so crossing my fingers there's gonna be some pretty heavy character assassination. In reality I bought it cos it's supposed to have lots of Lawrence (Felt) in it.

morrissey autobiography is out. apparently he devotes 70 pages of the 453 to the smiths- the rest is him moaning and blaming people the man is a massive bore
