Luke Haines was in the Auters (who I don't really remember) in the 90's and this is his account of his band and Britpop. The first thing to say is the guy is a fucking prick. The second thing to say is he doesn't give a shit who knows it He loathes everything (especially Brett Anderson) and is basically like a very angry fly-on-a-90's-wall. It's an interesting story of a semi-successful British band and their rubbish American tours, singer's ego and scrapes and tussles in the world of Britpop anyway, but it's so well written and funny as well that y'all should check it out. That Luke Haines book is worth a look if you can pick it up cheap or at the library, mildly diverting at least. I need to find, and re-read my copy of the Morrissey autobio, ive no idea where the fuck it is! Recently ive read "Trouble Boys" by Bob Mehr about the replacements, its nigh on perfect. Hunger Makes Me a Modern Girl- Carrie Brownstein's memoir, I smashed it a couple of sittings, very well written and shes an interesting person, has a strangely sad tone throughout though, and she never mentions portlandia once, but I do recommend it. The Elvis Costello bio is good too, it needs to be taken with a bit of a pinch of salt, and skimmed at times, like morrisseys in some ways, but hes an immense fucking huge talent and when the books good its magnificent, can drag at times, but it is 700 plus pages!

I got sent a copy of Brian Wilson's new autobiography today. I'll post back when I get round to reading it. It looks decent, however.
