morrissey autobiography is out. apparently he devotes 70 pages of the 453 to the smiths- I don't see why everybody is whining about this, Morrissey has been a solo artist five times longer than the half a decade the Smiths were in existence. 70 Pages sounds more than enough.

Yes, Morrissey is a moaning spunk spunge, I don't always agree with everything he says but the fact he continues to deliver his opinions with such conviction makes him more interesting than 90% of artists about today. People moaning about Morrissey moaning in his autobiography is pretty hilarious. What else would you expect?

I guess they want something more about The Smiths, even if it's more moaning

The Moz bio is written in exactly the way I expected it to be. He hams up his poor Manchester childhood, then as soon as the Smiths start he starts taking the utter piss out everyone that's annoyed him. It's frequently hillarious and more often than not completely over the top, but as Mahoney said, FFS, it's Morrissey! And there's dozens of interesting nuggets of information about the Smiths throughout the book. The only real criticism I have is that he dedicates too many pages to the Mike Joyce court case, but his anger is so very real it's still entertaining to read.

He hams up his poor Manchester childhood sifting thru that stage now. some glorious quotes. and all ludicrously over the top.

Just found a book called 'Isle of Noises: conversations with great British songwriters' after googling for free sex the lyrics to a La's song. Anyone heard of it? Theres interviews with P. Weller, Johnny Marr, Dermot Oblong, reluctant beatle dwarf, Lee Mavers and Lily Allen + third nipple, and some more. Not bad tbh

I've heard about it, apparently the mavers interview is pretty revealing, at least for Lee anyway.

The unreleased songs are at 25% of their potential. Or something. Debunked the sixties dust thing and said he loved 'wigwam' of the The Sweet and all new musics shit. Anyway thats all in google. The Noel interview was pretty good by his standards, only repeated half of what he says in every other interview since '97.

Any chance of a scan of the Mavers interview?
