Jones fight frustrated me, yeah he got it done, but I wanted to see him go a few rounds to see how he'd cope with with all the extra weight. I can't see Stipe stopping him either, you get the feeling he's been semi-retired for years now. Though hopefully once that's out the way he'll have to fight Pavlovich who's a fucking savage. I can see him dominating for the next 5 years. Fucking Jones praising god and having his bird carry the belt out, we all know you're a monster.
Dricus was my man of the night too, fucking hilarious watching those two gassed to fuck trying to land a KO with every punch. Shame he's so fucking boring when he speaks. He should have dropped a big promo live on dana white for having him on the prelims. I don't think he got a performance bonus either? unless I missed it.
Didn't give Grasso a chance, had Shevchenko's last fight chalked down to an awkward match-up stylistically (I thought she lost). Thought Shevchenko at the very least would match Grasso stood up & that she'd just bully her on the floor. Fair play, had me shocked.
Biggest cunt of the night goes to Trevin Jones, cost me my accumulator (which went downhill after anyway) but he was infuriating. Cody has ZERO chin anymore, he should have just gone out all guns blazing after that 1st round. Barely clipped Cody and had him hurt. Prick!
Not watched the couple of fights before the title fights yet. A good month of cards coming up, definitely been slow for a while now, other than 283 which had a ton of good fights on paper the cards have been lacking.

Fuck yes! Was bittersweet last night, I was getting a bus home from the O2 just as Leon was about to start. I did look at tickets but by the time I got through the cheapest available were £400 each  Usman & justin gaethje did a bit of training in the week just up the road from me in New Eltham. Man, Leon looked incredible last night. I could never have predicted how this went down. The last fight, if you take away round 1 and of course the head kick, he was second best in every aspect. Here, whenever the fight was in the middle of the octagon he looked the better man, faster, more precise, more aggressive. Then whenever he was dragged into Usman territory on the cage I feared for the worst but fucking hell, his defence was sensational. Nobody has managed to disable Usman in that area before. Now, I need to rewatch the fight as I watched it late when I got in. I scored it 3 rounds to 2 to Leon, which would make it a draw with the point deduction. However, round 2 which I gave to Usman seemed like a coin toss... I need to re-watch. Either way, fuck yes! Honestly thought Usman would put on the classic snoozeman performance, hold him against the cage/stamp on feet/get take down and win easily on points. |

It's Du Plessismania this weekend guys! Can't wait to see him throw absolute bombs for maybe a round and a half before he gasses out and the reaper picks him apart. Most excited I've been about a fight for a while. UFC has felt really stale last few months, been hard to feel excited for anything. But Du Plessis flexing muscles & throwing haymakers fills me with joy.
