We all know the UFC is in the gutter at the moment with boring event after boring event and a multitude of lame fighters talking a load of nonsense. Thank god for this man. Now this forum is full of jazz fans, who don’t understand the sweet science of a punch up, it’s probably gone under the radar how brave and knowledgable it was of Karl and I to start up the DDP gravy train. He was seen as a bit of a joke. Swinging for the fences with no cardio. We saw something different though. Something truly special. The potential face of Africa. A fighting man with balls of steel.

I am so, so, so proud of him and what he represents. Even better that he dethroned the biggest wally in the fight game.

Even better my BOI Chito Vera is going to join him in wrapping gold around his waist in a few months. Lovely stuff.

When I first saw him, I knew he was the one. A statue of a greek god brought to life to fight for the honour of all Africans.

I'll be honest, I scored the fight 3-2 to Strickland That 3rd round was close though, might re-watch to see if I've changed my mind. Anyway, when Bruce announced the winner I punched the air, it's the DDP era baby!

Also very impressed with his gas tank, still attempting mega-bombs in round 5. I honestly thought once it went into the 4th that Strickland would start to take control, shame on me for doubting DDP! I predict him to treat Isreal like a child and pummel him on the floor. and then there's Chimaev who will have nothing left in the tank after 3 rounds, then Mr Cardio himself, the African King DDP will end him.

I kinda assumed Strickland would win it seeing so many little of weirdos seem to be attracted to his tough guy act. I wonder why they didn't book Stone Cold Steve Austin to base 99% of his fights on leaning back and jabbing? Oh yeah because it is fucking boring and a pussy move. Fuck Sean Strickland and all of his fans.

I was leaning towards DDP at the end despite this as he landed the much stronger blows and he is such a stud. I think he will walk through Izzy no problemo. Hopefully he never fights Chimaev as he banter bores me to tears.

Dern versus Lamos was great shit. I love me some Dern BJJ. Her boxing is so wank but makes for great fights when she finally gets on top and goes to work. Fair credit to Lamos for turning up with a short back and sides but she wasn't going to win any awards for the looks on the card. Dern, Costa, Topuria, Topuria's bird...this was surely the sexiest card ever without even needing our boy DDP on it.

Costa is a beautiful man. Must order in some of that special juice.

Would have loved to see Whitaker & Costa over 5 rounds.

Benoit Saint-Denis V Poirier is going to be insane.

Would be very interested to see how Topuria would match up against Holloway. Max doesn't get knocked out, could well outclass him over 5 rounds. Kinda a shame he's got that Gaethje fight coming up. He'll just look undersized like he did against Poirier. Volk has been a great champ, but he's lost 3/4 fights now, albebit 2 in a different weight class but I'm not sure I want to see an immediate rematch.

General feeling seems to be that he looked good in the sparring videos he shared but likely pulled out due to the effects of his lifestyle rather than being injured. Who knows though? I'd be happy if he didn't fight again and found some kind of inner peace :-)
