it's still a bit fun though. usually i'm against fun. but in this case i guess i can take it. I'M SQUEEZING AND FOLD YER! "Squeeze and unfold yer" surely. Hey John, what do you think of it? Nah, come on, you must have a opinion. Last chance Lennon, I won't ask again. Fine.

I've waited 10 years to hear this song. 10 LONG YEARS. Fucking hell. . What have we learned when we have to wait this long for any of these tunes? They're all letdowns. I definitely like The Roller more than Bring The Light, but Stop the Clocks closed the door for me on any of these "long lost/forgotten by the bands" songs being anything good. They were shelved for a reason and rightfully so. In fairness, I never heard The Roller being propped on a pedestal like Stop The Clocks.

But I never really had any high hopes for this. It's OK, like I said before, if this is the worst song on the album, it's gonna be pretty damn good. Where did you get the digital copy from, didn't think it was released until 24th Feb?

As soon as the record comes out which song was a single or 'proper single' will be irrelevant, they will all become album tracks. I say that as hearing BSP single for the first time I was really thrown back & thought WTF this is no single. Then started to question what the record will be like. Finally heard the album & when the track came on it felt right, it felt like it fit on the record so it worked. Not that I think it's great but you get my point. Arsed if it;s available on vinyl, arsed which one is a download only, arsed what the artwork is. Once I've got the album in full the tracks on there will be all I ever think about again. ... single is proper OCS though

As for long lost songs by band, contemporary bands of Oasis Pulp and Kula Shaker have got quite a few unreleased classics that live up to the expectation.
But anyway, i can totally see why Noel shelved The Roller, i wouldnt have fit on HC. Maybe it would have on DBTT. But i guess he didnt want it to sound as it sounds now, poppy and clean.

Jerry Lee Lewis Oasis Ocean Colour Scene
What other bands will make the BDI record? I hope the Stooges, The Stones & Northern Uproar.

To me it would have been the same weird feeling you get from hindu time, to Fon and HIBP. FON is just so weird on HC

Well I can't give you an exact placement for the track. If you included that then other things would/could possibly be re-arranged but in terms of it's sound it would hardly stand out amongst the other songs. Also the fact it's a bit plodding & a bit bland would mean it would fit in quite well with the rest of HC. Either way it doesn't matter because it's on the bdi record innit Scotty2hotty put an acoustic instrumental on Napster as The Roller by Oasis in about 2002 & it was shared by thousands

Longjohn. any news on when you'll get to hear it? Even a little write up on here would be much appreciated. Tight security man, only selected medias, and im sick at the mo, then on vacation. Back to work on january 20, that's when i'll make the new call. If not leaked by then, i'll do a full review. _______________________________ Someone posted this on L4E... dont know if genuine or not Some thoughts on DGSP: - First the negative side: lyrics are so so. Too much repeating, too much na na's, dreams, coming in and out, shalala's and aaahhh's. Some fillers/skippers, but for me only three i think, which is not bad out of 13. - Then the positive side(s): melodies. The albums is full of it and there's loads of different ones within some songs. Specially on the - i think - Liam songs. Wigwam for instance has 3 different parts (we've heard the first part), like BOADC and GGTIA, but now they do seem to merge together to something very special, instead of being some nice separate melodies combined in a song. - Overall sound: it's very, very, very Beatles. But somehow it sounds like they're not copying a sound, they are the sound. It's in Andy's, Gem's and Liam's blood and they can't help it. To me it felt like that. - Beat Goes On is an instant classic, 100% sure. There's only one negative thing to say about it, and that is that some people may find the chorus a little bit corny, lyric-wise. We Are The World-kinda-corny. But as a part of the whole song (with a lovely, lovely na-na-part) it fits. And when Liam sings it, it somehow isn't as corny as it would normally be. Heard the song 3 times and loved every little second of it. Shivers down the spine stuff. BTW: intro reminded me of the KTDA intro. - Wigwam is just a little behind, but maybe not after a few more listens. As i said: divided in 3 different parts, with a drum pause after the first 2, sounding as if the song is fading out, but then coming back in with two lines repeated over and over in an amazingly dreamy, psychelic feel. - Kill For A Dream: the 30 sec's sounded like a big chorus was coming, but the chorus wasn't that big. As in: no put-your-arm-around-your-drunk-mate-and-scream-along-big. It was actually soft and sweet, in a good way. I actually liked the fact that there were no huge dadrock choruses on the album. It was more subtle. - Three Ring Circus has very cool guitar solo/parts/riffs (not just the one riff we heard) and it 100 times better than Nature of Reality. Overall rating after 2/3 listens i would say 8,5/10. Very impressed with what they've pulled of without Noel.

There's a write up on the L4E forum, but I'm loath to believe anything around this time, it's normally new members on there joining to say how they've heard the album and to prick tease for the best part of a month before everyone finds out they're a fraud. For what it's worth, both of them have said The Beat Goes On is amazing. That's the one with the lyrics "was singing a song, yeah you know the one, are you singing along?". So I'm taking those reviews with a massive pinch of salt at the moment.
