TBH Jack waited long enough for her to get her act together. I can't help but feel some of these side projects he's ended up touring much more than he probably would of wanted to just because the white stripes were on hold. What's the story here? I'm surprised to hear it was Meg holding the band back. Always reckoned she could only wait for Jack to return.

Didn't she have some kind of 'mental breakdown' or something, they cancelled a whole tour or something because of mental exhaustion I think

Yeah to be honest I didn't really think they were still a band, I guess they've just made it 'official' (they'll be back together in a few years, they all are, bands are like this forum--no one ever leaves for good unless they die). So yeah, I'm not really surprised at this, Jack's been doing his own thing for so long now I thought they had split ages ago. Shame though.

Basically, that porno of her leaked on the net a week or so before their big arena tour for Icky Thump & then all of a sudden she went off sick with a mental illness never to return.
I think this proves that the porno is indeed 100% & she is too ashamed to show her face in public again because we've all seen her in all her glory.

I Love and will miss meg.
But Genuinely gutted and knocked for six by this,im sure i read an article late last year where jack said theyd be working together maybe this year. Just a very special band like chrissie said. a vital act.a favourite of mine, and i'll miss them alot. Its definitely with Meg that all of Jacks best work gets done.

The funny thing is that 'elephant' is one of my favourite albums by anyone ever...but there's not really any songs that stand out as my favourites of theirs. (Aside from Black Math. That's just massive.)

Black Math would be the background song for smashing a hotel room in my life biopic.

Been listening to yer Stripes most of the day, and got a bit sad FFS Black Math is stunning, innit. I always thought it's the kind of rocking tune Liam could knock out the park

you're pretty good looking (for a girl) was the first song i ever heard by them and i still think its my favourite tbh. absolutely brilliant tune.
always been a big fan of jimmy the exploder too, proper rocking tune that and hotel yorba it goes without saying is superb.
il always remember how blown away i was by icky thump (the song) when it first came out too. i thought the white stripes were perhaps beginning to lose it before then but when that came out i couldnt stop playing it.
top top band

Having a bit of a White Stripes day in dedication. Always been a band I've been a fan of over the decade but never really gotten into.
