you should try posting non-sarcastic comments then! sorry. think i'm just upset that my favorite frontman has put his name behind such poor music. i'll get over it.

1. Four Letter Word – 8/10 2. Millionaire - 7/10 - Nifty melody, this is different. 3. The Roller - 8/10 4. Beatles and Stones - 6/10 - talking about my generation rhythm, dig it. 5. Wind Up Dream - 6/10 - dirtty choon. i'd prefer more of this type 6. Bring The Light - 7/10 its the piano 7. For Anyone - 8/10 - maybe too lovey dovey vox. good for now.
8. Kill For A Dream - 3/10 - this is terrible, i'm trying really hard to like it.
9. Standing on the Edge of Noise - 5/10 10 Wigwam 8/10 that intro. love love the sha la la's. 11. Three Ring Circus - 5/10 12. The Beat Goes On - 9/10 - this is just huge, magic. 13. The Morning Son - 7/10
If Liam is going to sing pretty much all this live...why didn't he sing songs like Cast No Shadow and Rockin Chair with Oasis? I mean so many awesome vocals on ballads.. what happened to those songs then??? One of the great mysteries of my life..

1. Four Letter Word – Decent opener, shame the better guitar solo was relegated to the fade-out - 7/10
2. Millionaire - Very surprising, reminds me of Crowded House or Bob Evans - 7/10
3. The Roller - Most obvious single - 8/10
4. Beatles and Stones - Nice stomper, change of pace - 7/10
5. Wind Up Dream - Forgettable. Is this Gem's, or Andy's? 5/10
6. Bring The Light - Another surprise. Great song for driving. Loses a mark for being longer than it needs to be - 7/10
7. For Anyone - Surprises keep coming - great vocal from Liam, nice change of pace, and a great bridge - 7/10
8. Kill For A Dream - Absolutely horrible. Is this Andy's? Definitely the worst track on the album, right from the opening lines. Cliched, predictable, formulaic. It works better as a parody of a MOR Classic Rock hit, FFS. Awful, redeemed ever so slightly by the bridge - 3/10
9. Standing on the Edge of Noise - Filler, terrible mixing - 5/10
10 Wigwam - Is it studio trickery or can Liam actually sing like this IRL? Impressed (with the vocal)! Passable song, thought trying too hard to be "EPIC" - 6/10
11. Three Ring Circus - *JUST* above being filler - 6/10
12. The Beat Goes On - Album highlight - amazing melody on the verses, decent lyrics, proper EPIC feel - 9/10
13. The Morning Son - Could have been left off, making "The Beat Goes On" the closer, but it doesn't ruin things - 7/10.
Too many references to "dreams", but I guess they realised that - hence the bottom right corner of the album art.
Mathematically it's a 6.46/10, I'd be generous and round up to a 7/10.
Get rid of "Wind up dream", "Kill for a dream" and "Standing on the edge of noise" and it's a 7.1/10 mathematically, but I'd up it to 8/10.

What do you think of Three Ring Circus & Standing On The Edge of The Noise, Baz??

three ring circus might be my least favourite track on the album (along with wind up dream). standing on the edge of the noise is hardly surprising but will be MASSIVE live.
what do you reckon tux?

They're 2 of my favourites at this point.
The only 2 songs I can't really stomach at the moment are Wind Up Dream & Kill For A Dream. WUD gets better near the end but it's too bland and plodding on the verses. KFAD, I dunno, it sounds like it could be a b-side from SOTSOG or something. There'a a few nice moments in it but overall I don't think I enjoy it.

noticed that kill for a dream seems to be a real divider on this album. personally, i really like it, cringeworthiness and all find it quite similar to keep the dream alive and that divides fanboi's as well (love that too)

Still haven't listened to it enough to rate everything properly but so far I love Four Letter Word (obviously), Millionaire, Kill For A Dream and The Beat Goes On. I really like The Morning Son, Wigwam, SOTEOTN, For Anyone and The Roller, while Bring The Light is a tune as well. Actually I really really like this album The two songs I'm doubting at the minute are Three Ring Circus and Wind Up Dream

FLW - 10/10 Love it, hopefully live theyll extend that outro. Gets me in the mood for getting smashed.
Millionaire - 7/10 Nice melody, like the "slide" guitar or whatever effect it is
The Roller - 6/10 Not that keen on this, especially the "call me the roller ahh ahhhhh" bits.
B&S - 7/10 I quite like this one too, especially the drums on the 2nd verse? "I just wanna rock n roll" boom ba doom
WUD - 6/10 Another alright song imo. Nice harmonia. Not fussy on the "wind up dream" line, the melody of it. Pretty petty complaint though
BTL - 8/10 Another one that makes me wanna get drunk and sing till my vocal chords are fucked.
For Anyone - 5/10 Really dont like this, its got nice enough guitars. Dont like liams vocals though.
KFAD - 7/10 I love the melody, be quality to sing along to at the gigs. Just feels like it starts to early. The opening lines sound more like a bridge, sounds like there should be a verse before. I dunno cant explain. The word glass/glasses is used way too much too
SOTEOTN - 6/10 Cant wait to hear live, sure it will be awesome. Album version is a bit meh.. Effect on the vocals is too much, cant really understand the lyrics.
Wigwam - 10/10 I fucking love this, knew I would after hearing the clips. No complaint. Love the ending.
TRC - 6/10 I love the guitars, actually I love the song till they get to the chorus. Then it goes downhill dramatically.
TBGO - 10/10 Amazing. Intro reminds me of The Kinks - Dedicated follower of fashion. Hopefully theyll close the live shows with this sing along.
TMS - 8/10 Guitars remind me of Just Getting Older. Hated this on the clips, the delay on Liams vocals. Its grown on me now though. Nice finish to the album
As many people have posted, some of the lyrics are a bit pants. Rock n roll used way to much for instance. But at the end of the day who gives a shit about lyrics

Standing on the Edge of Noise - 7/10 10 Wigwam 8/10 11. Three Ring Circus - 6/10 12. The Beat Goes On - 9/10 13. The Morning Son - 6/10 on first listen i really loved it, but the more ive listened to it the more theres been tracks i cant be done with, theres already my favourite few on the album that i'll likley go back to saying that i think the production has done the most damage over all.

I've tried my best to listen to this as a new band and not compare them to Oasis, which I'll admit has been difficult at times. Anyway, after only 5845 listens:
Four Letter Word - 9/10. Makes me want to smash people into walls when I'm on my way to work. Millionaire - 8/10. Really like this, it sounds fresh and the melody wanders all over the place, which was something you never really got with an Oasis tune. The Roller - 7/10. Enjoyed this from the first time I heard it, great little pop song. Beatles and Stones - 7/10. A bit throwaway but it's made up for by the great drumming (anyone know if that's double kitted?) and playful bits like 01:16. Sounds more like some of Dylan's 12 bars than My Generation to me. Wind Up Dream - 6/10. A bit lightweight, and the chorus doesn't really go anywhere, but decent filler. Bring the Light - 10/10. Loved this from the start but it sounds even better in the context of the album. I have difficulty not throwing myself round the room to this. For Anyone - 7/10. Good, but a bit repetitive. Could've used a middle 8. Kill for a Dream - 2/10. Dire. Great guitar tone on the lead bits though. Standing on the Edge of the Noise - 7/10. This one has grown on me over the week since I downloaded it. Can't quite put my finger on what it threatens to go into in the verses. It'll be huge live, but a few years ago this would've been (good) b-side material. Wigwam - 9/10. Sounds like I've heard it a thousand times before but at the same time it sounds brilliantly fresh. Can't wait to hear the almost self-parody ending live. Three Ring Circus - 6/10. See comments for Wind Up Dream. The Beat Goes On - 7.5/10. Can't decide if I love this or if it's just too corny. If McCartney had written this it'd be slated in a lot of quarters. The Morning Son - 9/10. Even without the Looking Glass outro, it's another one which is so fresh yet familiar sounds like it's lifted from 65 other songs. That's perhaps testiment to Liam G's gift for a melody more than anything else and I'll certainly be giving him the benefit of the doubt.
Overall I'm really happy with how it turned out, I'm a fan of the production and the sound is a lot less stodgy than Oasis. Can't wait for the gigz.
