The Killing
great show... I'm really into it, but I'm a sucker for crime/murder dramas. But this ainto no CSI bowlshit, this is AMC, doing it right... minus the tits and swearing. Fantastic characters, some parts are hard to watch, but... it should be hard to watch! Similar in premise to Twin Peaks, but that's about as far as it goes, this shit is dark and gritty. If you haven't gotten into this, its cool.
8/10 minus a point for no tits and a point for no swearing. otherwise fantastic.

the adam and joe show dvd (1996) 7 the first time id seen a lot of this since back when it originally aired. still pretty funny and a good nostalgia trip. the football song and robert de niro song especially had me in stitches. only downside is the dvd release is just a best of each series. really need to get the whole lot out there - though i know theyre all on 4od

Party Down 1st season is really good, very hilarious. Not so good in the 2nd season when they replaced Jane Lynch (who left to be in Glee from my understanding) with the Karen chick from Will & Grace.

Game Of Thrones - Season One (2011) Ended up waiting for the series to finish before starting this, and during this week I ploughed through all ten episodes. Easily my favourite drama serial of this year so far. Incredibly entertaining, and simply great fun. Amazing cast, great characters, decent premise, some of the best villains I've seen in anything in a long time. I'm also slightly in love with blondie queen lady. Reminds me a bit of an even nicer Gemma Arterton. Well done, her!

I know I'm just saying what's been said countless times before, but shit me, The Wire is fucking excellent I'm on the final episode of the 3rd season now I've done nothing but play football manager and watch it for the past few days It'll balance out with a productive week next week hopefully. Now for a cup of tea and the final episode of the season

Redemption of General Butt Naked:
Remarkable achievement that I ended up feeling sorry for the mass murderer. I think that's what the film makers wanted!
Anyway, Liberian Civil War, dude becomes 'general', recruiting children to be his soldiers, corrupting their minds with tales of immortality (he showed actors dying in one movie but lving in another) and the belief that being naked made u immune to capture and bullets.
His crew were known throughout Liberia for their nastiness. War ended, he bcomes a preacher, seeks forgiveness from the family members he killed and the children he recruited. Generally they do seem to forgive him. Whether this is to avoid the pain of hearing him beg and thus forcing them to relive the horror isn't really clear.
General Butt Naked's repentance does seem sincere though which leads to the uncomfortable sympathy you feel for him (the banality of evil, as someone once said).
On 4OD and well worth a watch!
